“I know. Is Ryan okay?” Beatrice asked. 

Monica wiped away her tears and sighed as she took out the food for Beatrice, “He’s fine, just getting scolded. You know Xander’s temper. It’s all Abdiel’s fault, a scoundrel! He looks decent, but turns out to be such a bastard.” 

Beatrice sighed and said, “Mom, I didn’t want to get married.” 

Monica didn’t dare to mention this matter anymore and casually said, “I know. Anyway, public opinion is all focused on Madelynn now, and it has nothing to do with us. If you don’t want to get married, I won’t force you. I’m just worried that our family will think you’re still thinking about someone you shouldn’t be.”

When the nurse was giving Beatrice an injection, she joked, “Just now, my colleague met Mr. Caden in the parking lot.” 

Monica was surprised.“Has Caden not left yet?” 

The nurse adjusted the speed of the IV drip and smiled, saying, “Mr. Caden and Ms. Bradford were deeply in love. They were truly a perfect match.” 

Monica cast a glance at Beatrice and uttered a somewhat unnatural “yes” sound. Beatrice had the soup with her head down, remaining indifferent. 

After the IV drip was done, Beatrice decided to go back to school, as she still had not finished her competition project.

She was like a doll in Caden’s hands, and he could manipulate her however he wanted. Beatrice felt extremely humiliated and gritted her teeth as she forcefully slapped his hand. There was a loud bang inside the car. 

The carriage fell into silence. 

Red fingerprints were left on Caden’s fair hand. 

Beatrice was suddenly overcome by an unexplained sense of panic, prompting her to turn her face away. 

“Uncle Caden, thank you for your concern. You are so busy, so I won’t disturb you.” After saying that, she wanted to open the car door. 

However, with a click, the car door was locked. 

Keith outside the car seemed to hear the sound of the door being locked and knew what he should do as he turned around. 

The enclosed space suddenly reminded Beatrice of the feeling of being pressed down by Abdiel. Caden straightened his back and leisurely lit a cigarette. In an instant, the confined space of the carriage was inundated with cigarette smoke, obscuring Beatrice’s view and rendering it nearly impossible for her to discern his facial expression. 

Beatrice, however, heard him sneer, “You drugged me and slept with me. Now, are you denying 

it?” 

“It wasn’t me!” Beatrice argued, but her tone was helpless. 

“Evidence.” 

Beatrice remained silent. 

She did not have any evidence. 

She had no idea what had happened or why she found herself in Caden’s room. And… Finally, she was willing.
