Chapter 24 I Have No Legitimate Right 

On the way to dinner, I thought about what had just happened and still felt confused about myself. 

When Evelyn asked that question, I actually expected Christopher to say something to defend me. 

For example, “She should rightfully spend my money.” 

“She doesn’t need your permission to spend my money.” 

But how did Christopher respond? 

He said, “This car was bought for her by Bentley. He explained this to Evelyn. 

However, this car was clearly the Valentine’s Day gift he gave me not long ago. 

When Evelyn was making a scene, he didn’t recognize that this car was mine, which was fine, but he even forgot how this car came about. 

Perhaps he remembered, but he didn’t want Evelyn to know that he was actually good to me. 

As his wife, I surprisingly didn’t have the proper right to use marital property and still needed be cautious in front of his former lover.

Looking at the night scene outside the car with flashing lights, I suddenly felt bitter and vile in my heart. 

He could give the same thing he gave me to someone else. 

Elissa was driving and asked, “Are you still thinking about what just happened?”

Elissa nodded perfunctorily and queued up at the restaurant’s entrance. 

Seeing the large number of customers waiting to dine, both Elissa and I were stunned.

Just as we were in distress, someone upstairs pushed open the window, revealing a handsome face, and casually said, “Elissa, come up quickly. We’ve reserved a table!” 

It was Ivan. 

I never expected this playboy to show up in such a noisy place. 

Elissa was annoyed with him at first, but upon hearing that there was a table available, her eyes lit up with surprise, and she took my hand and went upstairs. 

It was a semi–open private room with Ivan and Cecil inside. 

Ivan was as vivid and luxurious as ever, while Cecil preferred casual wear, looking gentle and elegant.

“Copycat,” Elissa greeted, scolding Ivan while sitting down, “I shouldn’t have told you I was coming here for dinner.” 

“Hehe, if I didn’t come, you’d have to wait a long time,” Ivan shamelessly said. 

“If it werent for Hope, I wouldn’t have accepted your favor, Elissa ruthlessly retorted. 

He didn’t mind and looked at me smilingly. “Thanks to Mrs. Valence.” 

The restaurant exuded a cozy ambiance and is bustling with energy. The booths were only surrounded by light curtains, which did not fully block out the sounds from outside. The food on the table emitted an enticing aroma, Bon whetting one’s appetite.

I looked at Cecil in surprise, “Cecil, you joined MS Group?” And he was even an executive.

“Yes.” 

Ivan nodded, “Let’s eat quickly. I have other arrangements for later.” 

As he spoke, he glanced at me, “Too bad Chris is busy; otherwise, you two…” 

I could tell he didn’t want me to divorce Christopher. 

“Don’t talk during dinner.” 

Elissa quickly stuffed a pie into his mouth. 

I chuckled, “It’s not worth regretting.” 

He had someone he wanted to be with. 

Since we were getting a divorce, we each had our own lives, which was normal.

Descended after dinner, perhaps distracted, I missed a step on the stairs, but luckily, a large hand steadied me, preventing me from falling. 

After making sure I was stable, Cecil gently reminded me, “Be careful. Are you okay?”

I just twisted my foot a bit. 

However, I didn’t expect my foot to be twisted quite severely, as it hurt a lot with each step.

“Is it serious? Do you need to go to the hospital?” Elissa asked with concern. 

“I’m fine; it’s just a minor issue.” 

I handed her the car keys, “I just can’t drive; leave it

“How will you get back? By taxi? Do you need me to take you home first?” 

“Let me take Hope home.”
