Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 149

Victor didn't really mind as he drove away from Cresthaven General Hospital, heading toward Cresthaven Memorial Hospital.

Halfway there, as if struck by a sudden thought, he pulled over in front of a florist shop.

Being a weekend, the shop was bustling with people buying flowers.

Victor, dressed casually yet stylishly, was tall, handsome, and exuded an air of nonchalance with his meticulously groomed hair. From head to toe, he seemed to embody a carefree spirit.

The shop assistant noticed him immediately and welcomed him with a cheerful smile. "Are you buying flowers for someone special, sir?"

"Yes," he replied lazily.

Since he was going to visit Claire, it would be impolite to show up empty-handed.

She was in such a pitiful state, and a bouquet of fresh flowers might just cheer her up.

The truth was, he had never shown her much kindness in the past. Today, he saw this hospital visit as an opportunity to offer a floral apology for his previous demeanor.

But being the proud Mr. Lewis, an outright apology was out of the question.

The assistant asked again, "Are the flowers for a lady or a gentleman?"

"A lady," Victor answered offhandedly.

The assistant took another quick glance at Victor.

He seemed to be a wealthy young man, buying flowers for a girl to win her over.

Her smile brightened even more. "Leave it to us, sir. We’ll make sure you’re satisfied."

Victor didn’t say much. He wasn’t well-versed in the language of flowers, so it was best to leave it to the experts. He waited outside the shop, smoking a cigarette.

The dashing Mr. Lewis, with his good looks and devil-may-care attitude, captured the attention of passersby.

Especially the women, who couldn’t help but steal glances at him.

Some were even tempted to approach him and ask for his number.

Eventually, a young and pretty woman mustered the courage, pulling out her phone as she walked toward Victor.

Just as she was about to reach him, the shop assistant came out.

Victor handed the assistant a few bills, not even bothering to wait for change.

The assistant accepted the money with a smile, "Have a great day, sir!"

Victor returned to his car, placing the bouquet on the passenger seat.

He started the engine and continued on his way to Cresthaven Memorial Hospital.

On the road, he couldn’t help but glance at the bouquet, imagining Claire’s tearful gratitude at the sight of such a grand gesture. A small smile played on his lips.

At Cresthaven Memorial Hospital, despite not being on staff, Victor was well-known among the medical personnel due to his frequent visits for academic discussions, not to mention his striking looks.

As he walked in with the large bouquet of red roses, the staff couldn’t resist giving him knowing looks filled with curiosity and intrigue.

"Dr. Lewis, are you visiting a patient?" a nurse teased.

Victor smiled slightly. "Yes, a patient." A very peculiar patient.

He approached the nurse’s station and casually asked, "Is there a Claire staying here?"
