Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 200

"Remember when we learned the difference between a miscarriage and a hysterectomy?"

Yvonne Smith’s perfectly styled curls clung to her forehead with cold sweat, and an involuntary whimper escaped her throat like a wounded animal. Her manicured nails scraped across the tablecloth, producing a sound like tearing silk.

Meanwhile, Sean cradled Claire in his arms and headed toward the side door. Droplets of blood dotted the black marble floor, each footstep echoing in the tense silence.

His thick lashes cast shadows over his eyes as he looked down, then suddenly turned to Aberdeen, whose face was ashen with rage. "May I borrow Grandmother's silk shawl?"

Aberdeen, seeing her beloved granddaughter-in-law treated so poorly, felt her heart ache. She immediately removed the shawl from her shoulders and handed it to Sean. "With me here, no one who has harmed Claire will get away with it."

"Yes," Sean replied.

He took the crimson silk, intricately embroidered, and wrapped it around Claire from head to toe, securing it tightly. The vibrant fabric contrasted starkly with her pale ankle, visible beneath the hem.

In the ensuing silence, Sean carried Claire straight out of the ballroom. The doors slowly closed, the last ray of light narrowing upon Yvonne Smith’s contorted face.

A persistent buzzing filled her ears, and she paled further as the realization dawned on her that she might have misunderstood something crucial, a mistake that could cost her dearly.

She turned to Lucas Foster, her voice trembling and shrill. "Lucas, that woman is clearly your mistress."

Lucas Foster’s expression darkened. He frowned, "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Yvonne Smith screamed at him, "How is it nonsense? I saw the photos your mother sent you, and you said as long as she approved, you had no objections."

"You all think that just because I can't have children, you can find someone younger for him."

"Is it my fault I can't conceive? It’s clearly because..."

"Enough!"

Aberdeen slammed her hand on the table, cutting Yvonne Smith off. She had never liked this daughter-in-law.
