Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 228

Ethan rushed out of the hospital without even bothering to change out of his patient gown. His mind was set solely on reaching the office as quickly as possible. However, just as he arrived at the entrance, his path was blocked by several police officers.

"What do you want?" Ethan demanded, his voice echoing with anger.

"The Linwood Corporation is under investigation for tax evasion," one officer explained matter-of-factly. "As the legal representative, you are required to cooperate with our inquiries."

These words struck Ethan like a bolt of lightning on a clear day. He stood frozen, his mind blank from shock. It wasn't the accusation of tax evasion that stunned him—it was the fact that he was being called the "legal representative."

How could this be possible?

When had he become the legal representative? He had no recollection of signing any documents to that effect.

As he was escorted into the police car, disbelief was etched across his face. He frantically recalled every recent company transaction, but he couldn't remember ever agreeing to or signing anything that would make him the legal representative.

He was acutely aware of the enormous risks associated with being the legal representative of a company involved in illegal activities: administrative sanctions, hefty fines, and potentially even criminal charges. These consequences could ruin a person financially and reputationally, which is why most CEOs of large companies avoided the role like the plague.

"This can't be happening! It's absolutely impossible!" Ethan finally burst out, struggling fiercely.

"You've got it all wrong! I'm not the one you're looking for—I know nothing about any of this!"

But the officers remained unmoved, coldly informing him that resistance was futile and that he must cooperate with the investigation.

...

Meanwhile, Liam, sporting dark circles under his eyes, arrived at Foster Manor. He collapsed onto the couch with a satisfied sigh, "Ah, this feels good."

Grace, who was tidying up, was used to Liam's antics and smiled indulgently. "Another late night at the office?" she asked.

Liam could barely keep his eyes open as he sniffled pitifully, "Late night? Try an all-nighter."

"If our boss lived in medieval times, he'd be the quintessential tyrant. I'm practically a shell of my former self..." he whined.

"Do I detect dissatisfaction?" Sean's deep, magnetic voice suddenly rang out from the living room.
