Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 229

Rubbing his tired eyes, Liam asked casually, "May, who's at the door?"

"It's Dr. Lewis," she replied.

"Dr. Lewis? Who's that?" Liam's face twisted in confusion, his eyebrows nearly knitting together. He turned to Sean, who was sitting beside him, seeking some clarification.

Sean recognized the voice and, with a calm expression, said, "Let him in."

No sooner had he spoken than the door burst open. Victor strode in, clutching a thick folder, his eyes scanning the room desperately for Claire's presence.

"Where's Claire?" he muttered, his gaze darting around.

"Dr. Lewis, Miss Claire is still resting," May explained.

"May, you need to wake her up. It's urgent," Victor insisted, urgency in his voice.

May looked uncertain, glancing at Sean for guidance, her eyes silently questioning.

Sean's gaze was cold and unyielding as he addressed Victor, his voice a low rumble imbued with authority, "If you're here about the Linwood family bankruptcy, you can leave. I'll talk to her about it myself."

Victor couldn't stand Sean's superior demeanor. Every encounter with Sean felt like standing in the presence of a force of nature, an aura of power that was impossible to ignore.

Though he'd met many influential people in Cresthaven, none matched Sean's combination of wealth, looks, and commanding presence. Compared to Sean, even the brightest young stars like Brian and Ethan seemed leagues behind.

Victor jutted his chin out defiantly. "You're the one behind the Linwood family's downfall, aren't you?" he accused, pausing before adding, "Aren't you afraid Claire will hate you for it?"

The atmosphere in the room shifted, becoming tense and charged. Sean, Liam, Grace, and May all exchanged knowing glances.
