Anathea froze, but in the time that she blinked, Gregory had already torn his gaze off the camera and walked toward the large screen on stage.

She couldn’t help but stare at Gregory. For some reason, she thought she saw the emotions swirling in his eyes earlier. She dared not draw any conclusions based on the emotions. She must have read too much into it.

A selfdeprecating smile subtly curved her lips. She’d already decided to move on from Gregory and the past between them, yet here she was, dwelling on sentiments stirred up by the look in his eyes.

She truly was a lost cause!

Meanwhile, under everyone’s watchful gaze, Gregory looked over to the side where Macon and Dayanna stood with their arms linked. He nodded at them, and they responded with small smiles.

Before the party started, Gregory had personally asked them to give him this chance. Macon and Dayanna’s relationship was still going strong after 30 years, and naturally, they hoped to help a passionate young man with his cause.

Gregory withdrew his gaze and took the microphone handed to him by one of the attendants.

Good evening, everyone. His low and husky voice rang out across the space. This party is thrown in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Presgrave’s 30th anniversary. I wish them the best from the bottom of my heart.

His words were met with loud applause from below the stage.

Gregory raised his hand to quiet the crowd, continuing, I’m sure all of you know that tonight’s guests are mostly married couples. I, myself, got married six years ago.

The moment the words were out of his mouth, the audience exchanged looks among themselves.

Some looked bewildered, while others looked as if they’d known the news all along. After all, rumors that Gregory secretly got married years ago had already made their rounds before this.

Everyone was more curious about Gregory’s wife and who she might be.

As Gregory stood alone on stage, the audience regarded him with puzzlement. He said he was already married, yet he’d gone up on stage alone. His wife was nowhere to be seen.

Granted, Natalie was present at the party, but she’d obviously been eliminated from the list of potential candidates.

But here I stand, alone on this stage. So, what’s happening here?Gregory voiced out the main question in everyone’s hearts.

Indeed, what was happening?

It’s because my wife and I recently got into a disagreement,Gregory confessed, sounding somewhat ashamed. In the six years we’ve been married, she’s always hoped to stand by my side and be recognized as my lawfully wedded wife.

However, for various reasons, I’ve always let her down, and she left me. I would like to apologize to her now.

Anathea’s fingers clenched tightly at her sides as she stared at the handsome face on the screen, a dreadful sense of foreboding filling her.

And so, I stand here today to formally introduce my wife, Anathea Jacobson!Gregory wrapped up his speech just as Anathea’s picture appeared on the screen behind him. The crowd burst into an uproar.

Holy crap!Hannah was so shocked, her jaw nearly dropped to the floor. What the hell is this prick doing Below the stage, Theo was equally stunned, his jaw dropping as he demanded, “What in the world is Greg playing at?Adrian chuckled with the humor of someone who understood the whole thing. Want to guess what I see when I look at

Gregory?
