Anathea had changed into a new outfit a knee–length white sati dress with delicate straps, layered under a matching short jacket. Intricate hand–embroidered pearls shimmered under the lights.
Her hair was swept up in a low chignon that gave her a poised, commanding air without losing that relaxed charm. Her already striking features were enhanced with light makeup, making her look even more graceful.
The moment she entered, all eyes turned to lier.
“Is that Mrs. Sinclair? She looks even more stunning in person than in photos!”
“She’s not just beautiful. She’s elegant too!”
“No wonder Mr. Sinclair married her. If a woman like that walked into my life, I’d lose my mind too!”
“If you ask me, she’s even prettier than Natalie…”
“Shh! Don’t say that here. Do you want trouble?”
“What? I’m just being honest. Natalie can’t compare to her. If she could, she’d be Mrs. Sinclair, wouldn’t she?”
Natalie overheard the whispers and clenched her fingers tightly.
She never thought Anathea would actually show up, much less steal the spotlight the second she walked in. She had to be doing it on purpose.
Anathea could feel the stares but had long grown used to them. And when she met Natalie’s resentful gaze, she merely returned a faint smile and walked over.
“My apologies, Ms. Whitman. If Gregory had told me earlier that today was your birthday, I wouldn’t have come so last minute.”
She extended a gift box toward Natalie.
Natalie forced a smile and accepted it. “You really shouldn’t have, Ms. Jacobson.”
She emphasized the last two words deliberately. Everyone else referred to Anathea as Mrs. Sinclair, but Natalie insisted on Ms. Jacobson.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Anathea smiled sweetly. “I used Gregory’s black card. He left it with me.”
Natalie froze for a moment.
Even the people who’d been mocking Anathea earlier fell silent. Surprise flickered in their eyes.
They’d mocked Anathea, thinking Gregory doted on Natalie and didn’t care about her. But they didn’t know that his black card was in Anathea’s hands.
Compared to the black card, the 50 million dollars he’d spent on Natalie’s tiara seemed like pocket change.
Suddenly, their gazes toward Anathea became more respectful.
At that moment, Gregory walked up beside Natalie and said calmly. “Let’s go. The ball’s about to start. Aren’t we supposed to dance the opening dance?”
Everyone froze at his words.
Gregory had just invited Natalie to dance publicly, right in front of Anathea. Was he hum…..ting her on purpose?
“What the hell is Greg doing?” Theo couldn’t stay quiet anymore. He was the one who publicly announced Anathea as his wife. And now he’s siding with Natalie like this?”
His voice dripped with frustration, though even he didn’t fully understand why he was so upset.

“But haven’t you always been on Natalie’s side?” Adrian rested his chin on his hand, watching, Theo with amused calm. “Greg’s just joined your team. Why are you upset?”
