“In any case, Anathea is my wife now, and she’s the only one I’ll ever want. I will not replace her with anyone else. I’m warning you–drop whatever thoughts you’re having, or I’ll have to be rough with you,” Gregory warned.

Theo frowned in displeasure. “You really think Anathea still wants to be your wife?”

“You can ask her yourself.”

Gregory was confident that Anathea would stay by his side because of Adam. As long as he had that leverage, he had nothing to fear.

Theo clenched his fingers and raised his voice. “If she doesn’t want to be your wife anymore, I’ll take her away. I swear I will!”

Gregory didn’t care about his posturing. It was just a loser’s empty bravado. But since Theo was his cousin, he held back his temper and responded, “You won’t get the chance.”

Gregory would never give Theo that chance. Anathea belonged to him. No one else could take her away.

He wanted Anathea’s body, heart–everything.

So, right after Theo left, he immediately called Martin and told him to keep a close eye on Adam and block all visitors.

After receiving Giselle’s message, Anathea frowned slightly.

Gregory had tightened the surveillance on Adam even more.

After Giselle asked about Anathea’s recent situation with Gregory, she quickly analyzed the situation and suggested, “Maybe it’s time to change your approach with Gregory.”

“What kind of approach?”

“Soft tactics. You’ve heard of that, right?”

Anathea stood there in silence, her lips pressed together. Even after Giselle hung up the phone, she still hadn’t snapped out of it.

“What’s wrong, Nat?” Evangeline gave her a light pat on the shoulder.

Anathea finally put away her phone and shook her head. “It’s nothing.”

“You look tired. Everything’s pretty much sorted out. Why don’t you head home early? You can keep working tomorrow,” Evangeline uttered with concern.

“But-”

“No buts. You’ve done so much for the company. There’s nothing wrong with you going home early for once.”

Evangeline started nudging her toward the door. “And while you’re at it, go thank Sinclair for all the gifts he sent us.”

Anathea didn’t say anything. She just glanced at the solid gold floral arrangement still sitting by the entrance with a complicated look in her eyes.

As soon as Anathea stepped out of the building, she saw a silver–black Maybach parked by the curb. The window was down, and Gregory’s handsome face was visible.

Anathea paused for a moment, then walked toward the car.

Dexter opened the door for her. She got in and sat next to Gregory but he didn’t say a word. He didn’t look too great either.

It seemed he was still upset about her kicking him out earlier without any courtesy.
