Chapter 1840
“Even if someone were to sabotage our relationship, I won’t fall for their tricks.”
With that, Jim placed another piece of meat on her plate; his attitude toward her evidently softened compared to before.
Charlotte seized this opportunity and placed a bowl of soup, which contained the drug used to control Jim, in front of him. “I made you a bowl of soup; you should drink it while it’s still hot.”
Jim was already feeling a little guilty for his behavior toward her, so when Charlotte handed him the bowl of soup, he did not suspect anything and instead drank it immediately.
Soon, the drug started to take effect.
Jim let out a yawn, put down his cutlery, and excused himself from the table to get some rest.
When Jim disappeared from view, Charlotte finally let out a sigh of relief. “Well, since Master Landry has already gone to bed, I guess…”
Even though Roanne had not finished her meal yet, she could feel the cold, stifling aura emanating off Charlotte’s body that was clearly hinting at her to leave. Roanne quickly put down her cutlery and said,” Well, I’ll be off now, Charlotte.”
“So soon?” Charlotte snickered and stood up. “I’ll send you out.”
Roanne furrowed her brows, glanced at the servants in the house, and finally nodded.
This was not the place for them to talk.
The two sisters came out from Landry Mansion’s back door one after another.
Roanne’s car was parked on the side of the street across from Landry Mansion’s back door. When the two of them reached the car, she let out an exhale, turned around, and reminded Charlotte in a low voice, “That was the last of the drug you poured into the soup. He’s probably fallen asleep now…
“Charlotte, remember that when you go upstairs later, you have to whisper the things you want him to remember next to his ear and repeat it a few times.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
