Chapter 2138
If she remembered correctly, the name list that Paul Duncan possessed…was the name list of all the children who had been under his care at the orphanage!
Previously, while trying to piece together Roanne and Charlotte’s true identities, Bonnie had sought out a former worker of the orphanage for help.
However, the worker told her that since everything had happened such a long time ago, no one knew the names of the children at the orphanage, nor where each of them had ended up.
Nonetheless, the owner of the orphanage, Mr. Duncan, had a name list that recorded the names of all the children and their whereabouts after leaving the orphanage.
Because of this, Bonnie had intended to track down Mr. Duncan to retrieve the name list from him, but…
He had left Merchant City a long time ago, and no one knew where he had gone nor when he would return.
Bonnie had no choice but to give up on her plan.
However, she did not expect that Mr. Duncan would return to Merchant City all of a sudden and that Jim would be able to track him down and retrieve the name list from him just in time.
If her guesses were correct, Jim was trying to get his hands on the name list to learn the whereabouts of all the children at the orphanage.
As soon as she thought of this, Bonnie suddenly remembered the call Jim had received moments before he left her alone in the car.
The first thing he had inquired after picking up the call was Number-9’s whereabouts.
This meant that…he had left her in the car because he had been preoccupied with finding Number-9.
A wave of emotions surged through Bonnie’s mind at the thought of this.
Jim was probably trying to track Number-9 so that he could fulfill his promise to her, right? He did not know that Number-9 had been sitting next to him all along and even almost died in his car!
Besides…
If he had successfully retrieved the name list from Mr. Duncan just in time, would he not have learned her true identity at this point?
Had he found out the truth?
Would his attitude toward her change if he learned what had happened? Perhaps he already knew the truth, but his love for Number-9 was not enough to make him take Bonnie back.
“What’s wrong?” Luna quickly strode over to Bonnie’s side AX?FD${K reached out to hold her hand as soon as she saw the expression on her face.
“Are you still unwell? Do you need me to call a doctor?”
Bonnie shook her head.
“No, thanks.” She sniffed and lifted her head to glance at Luna.
“I want to pack my bags and go back to Tea Cottage tonight.” Luna furrowed her brows upon hearing this.
“For what?”
She glanced at Bonnie’s pale face and continued, “You’re still extremely weak now, and Tea Cottage is so far away from the rest of the city.
Besides, you don’t have anyone to take care of you…
“I don’t think you should move back to Tea Cottage.
I think it’s best if you continue staying with Joshua and me so I can look after you.”
Bonnie waved her hand in refusal.
I…”
She paused for a moment before finally saying, “I want to keep my distance from Sean.” Luna frowned.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
