Chapter 2144
“Me?” Jim snickered and glanced at Christopher.
“I didn’t think you’d care about anyone else but Bonnie now.”
Then, he shifted into a more comfortable position, leaning against the bar table, and added,” When you brought her up immediately after calling me, I thought you were here to speak on her behalf.”
“No, I’m not.
She doesn’t need to be friends with someone like me who hurt her in the past, much less… speak to you on her behalf.” Christopher sported a self-deprecating smile, then
lifted his head to stare at Jim.
“Jim, I’m in the middle of something important now, and as soon as I’m finished, I might bring June with me to someplace up north.
“Aunty Rosalyn had already given me the recipe to formulate the drugs for my illness, and I’ll be able to produce my own medicine in the future.
I…”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “I want to bring June with me to someplace where nobody knows us and start a new life there.” Jim’s entire body stiffened when he heard this.
He lifted his head to stare at Christopher in shock.
“But you’ve lived in Merchant City for the past twenty years… All your friends and family are here, so you…” Christopher picked up his glass and drained its contents before finally replying, “It’s precisely because I’ve been living here for more than twenty years that I want to leave.
I can’t let myself ,remain stagnant forever, so I want to go somewhere up north to a foreign city and start our
lives afresh.” He lowered his head to stare at his empty glass and sighed.
“I want June to experience the life she’s always wanted…” Jim sighed.
“Therefore, I hope you and Bonnie can help me look after June before I finish what I started.
“The only person I care about now is June, and if anything happens to her…I’ll never be able to devote my time AYESJAsp energy to my research.” Jim furrowed his brows, picked up his wine glass, and gently clinked it against Christopher’s.
“Don’t worry; I watched June grow up before my own eyes, and if anything bad happens to her, I’d be worried sick, too.”
After getting Jim’s word, Christopher exhaled and lifted his head to stare earnestly at Jim.” Actually, there’s another reason I returned to Banyan City.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
