Chapter 467 Not as Good as My Dad
Back in the room, Julius immediately sat down next to Pete. His young face, which resembled Arthur's so much, held a serious expression.
"Mr. Helberg, hello. Are you my mom's suitor?"
The directness of the child's words caught Pete off guard. He raised an eyebrow and glanced at Charlotte, who was busy pouring water before smiling and saying, "What if I said I am? How would you feel about that?"
Ava, eating an apple, overheard their conversation and leaned in to listen.
Julius said seriously, "Then I'd advise you to give up."
"Why?" Pete asked with a faint smile, looking at him. "Do you want your mom to get back together with your dad? You know what your dad did to hurt your mom, don't you?"
"I don't want that," Julius replied in his soft, childish voice, but his tone was surprisingly calm. Talking to him felt like speaking with a teenager.
"My mom doesn't want a man like my dad, so how could she want someone worse than him?"
Pete's smile froze on his face.
He raised an eyebrow. "Your dad is so great? If he were really so great, he would've cherished your mom and wouldn't have hurt her."
"My dad just doesn't know how to love. His outward qualities are unmatched by most people. Mr. Helberg, you're no match either," Julius spoke very directly, with words that clearly conveyed he didn't want Pete getting close to his mom.
Ava smiled from the side, "Julius, are you saying you don't want your mom to remarry?"
"I won't interfere with my mom's decision. Great-grandma, I'm just trying to find someone more suitable for my mom," Julius answered seriously, turning to Ava.
That didn't sound like something a five-year-old would say.
Ava stared at him in surprise, reaching out to pat his head. "What's going on in that little head of yours?"
Julius gave a small smile. He said, "I just want my mom to be happier and have a better life."
