Worship The Ground You Walk On novel Chapter 40

Hearing the conversation, Hanna stopped immediately at the door of the toilet.

The voices inside floated into her ears lightly, as if a viper stuck out its tongue into her ear canals.

Claudia had already known that Amber was the one causing her allergy, but Hanna didn’t. She thought something went wrong with her body that caused her allergic reactions accidentally.

As if a Pandora’s box was opened suddenly, Hanna stared at Claudia in astonishment and was about to rush into the toilet to confront them.

Therefore, Hanna slapped the toilet door open with her hand.

Clang!

The huge noise stunned the two women in the toilet. They went silent out of fear at the sight of Hanna and Claudia, and left in a panic without washing their hands.

Watching the two women hurrying off, Hanna flared up and cried, “Claudia, we were set up!”

Claudia stayed calm and nodded with composure.

“What did we do wrong that they had to set us up?” Hanna felt bitter about being framed up, seething with resentment.

Claudia stretched out her hand and stroked Hanna’s arm in a comforting way, hoping she could settle down.

However, Hanna sighed, “Sometimes, I really admire your good temper. You’re such a kind person!”

Hanna, nevertheless, was still indignant that she was rumored to have STD. She almost lost her good name!

At this point, Claudia comforted Hanna in sign language. “Just let it go. We don’t have STD anyway. The most important thing is that we’ve recovered, so don’t get mad anymore!”

Hanna sighed, “I can’t find another person kinder than you. Alright, I’ll just let them off for you this time. But if Amber dared stir up trouble again, I’d eat her alive!”

Claudia couldn’t help but give a faint smile. Just like the rainbow after the rain, it was so refreshing and gorgeous, making one hard to look away from it.

Hanna gave a smile too. The two of them tried to remove the wine stains on Claudia’s dress as much as possible before going back to the box.

The spacious box went silent instantly the moment the two walked in.

It was so quiet that one could even hear a pin drop.

It was so quiet, as if time stopped.

Most of the women in the box were close to Amber. In fact, the circle they were in was not a big one. Since Claudia had a good memory, she knew most of them, though she had hardly hung out with them.

Hanna and Claudia sat down on the sofa, while the women sitting next to them went on with their conversation. One of Amber’s besties suddenly noticed the diamond ring on Amber’s finger and asked, “Are you engaged, Amber? Why are you wearing a diamond ring?”

“Well...” Amber raised her hand slowly and wriggled her slender fingers in front of everyone, the huge diamond sparkling.

Naturally, it attracted each woman’s attention.

“It was given by B...”

The name “Ben” almost slipped out of Amber’s lips. However, since Claudia and Hanna were around, she paused and went on, “It was given by one of my admirers. Although he didn’t mention the word 'engagement' exactly, but I think he meant that by sending me a diamond ring!”

“Of course! What a huge diamond! Both the cut and the clarity-grade of the diamond are top-tier!”

“It must be the work of some famous designer!”

Amber kept nodding and faked a shy smile. “Of course! It’s the work of the famous Italian designer Michaela!”

“Wow! The cost of hiring the designer is over two million dollars. Together with the diamond, it costs your fiance more than twenty million!”

Amber loved the feeling of being the envy of the group. Staring at the diamond ring on her finger joyfully, she looked at Claudia, who was sitting across her, raised her voice and asked, “Claudia, if a man really loves you, he’ll be willing to spend plenty of money on you, right?”

Before Claudia could say anything, the women around Amber began to echo her view.

“Certainly! If a man isn’t willing to spend money on you, he doesn’t love you at all!”

“My theory also applies to the couple, doesn’t it?” Amber asked.

The other women agreed with her.
