Claudia didn't know why Ben came back home so suddenly, but anyway, Conrad was very happy to see his father.
He waved his cute little arms and wanted a hug from his father.
Ben was wearing a sullen face. He strode over and rubbed Conrad's forehead, trying to comfort him.
Then he went upstairs directly. He picked up some documents in the study, and when he went back downstairs, his eyes focused on Claudia who was playing with Conrad on the sofa.
The housekeeper served a full plate of fresh fruits. When she felt the weird atmosphere in the room, she nodded at Ben and then walked away.
Claudia was on the sofa. She could feel Ben's cold gaze stabbing her back without looking at him. She was very frightened.
Conrad was lying in her arms, waving his hand at Ben. He was babbling and his clear eyes were blinking, looking so adorable.
Ben ignored Conrad's gaze and looked at Claudia with cold eyes. Then Claudia felt a side of the sofa sinking. Ben sat down next to her and gave her overwhelming pressure.
She forced herself to look up into his sullen eyes. Her heart had lost a beat. The next moment, he had already taken Conrad out of her arms.
Conrad became very playful when he was held in Ben's arms. His little hands grabbed Ben's collar and played with his tie. He was giggling.
Ben seemed not mad at all. He rubbed Conrad's cute little face and took the tie out of his hand. Then he put Conrad aside.
After that, he suddenly turned over and pressed his muscular body onto her. His bright eyes narrowed. Claudia could smell the hormone he gave out.
She swallowed and blinked her beautiful eyes, her long beautiful eyelashes trembling.
Ben had been cold and gloomy since he was a kid. He had built a fence of thorns around himself and kept other people far away from him.
The moment she met him, she fell for this mysterious temperament of his. Her love for him had lasted for over a decade.
But it had always been a secret crush.
She never dared tell him.
Then she lost the ability to speak. Her love became a secret that could never be told.
Her soft hands pressed on his tough pecs, her crystal eyes filled with grievance and helplessness.
Suddenly, he pinched her jaw and forced her to look at him. His gaze checked every inch of her face, and then he said coldly, “I've underestimated you. It looks like there were quite a lot of men that are coming after you.”
Claudia paused. She looked a bit surprised.
Coming after her?
“Did you forget what I told you?”
His deep voice was echoing in her ears. His nose was so close that she could felt his warm breath, but that made her back feel even chillier.
Claudia didn't know how to reply. She didn't have her phone by her, and Ben didn't want her to use sign language. She wondered how she could express herself.
She didn't even have the chance to argue for herself.
Ben's eyes were fixed on her. His tall and strong body remained still, and his cold face now seemed so upset.
She knew he had been provoked.
Claudia didn't know what she had done wrong.
If Ben was blaming her for Marshall's crush on her, then how about his relationship with Hanna?
Ben stared at her for nearly 30 seconds. Then he opened his mouth and said with a colder tone, “What medicine did he give you?”
Medicine?
Claudia's eyes lit up. Her lips moved slightly, but she didn't know how to answer.
She could read the growing impatience in Ben's eyes, and he could see her crystal eyes being filled with worry.
“Sign language!”
He finally gave his orders. The two words came out of his mouth loudly almost stunned Claudia.
