Worship The Ground You Walk On novel Chapter 9

When Ben returned to the company, the door of his office had cracked. He squinted his eyes.

He pushed the door open. The woman sitting on the sofa heard the sound and immediately looked at the door. When she saw Ben, her eyes brightened.

“Ben, were you wasted last night?”

Hanna got up. She had delicate makeup on her pretty face. Her long hair hanged down on her shoulders. The Givenchy dress she was in outlined her sexy curve.

She looked graceful and attractive.

“No.” Ben's voice was low, and he went straight to the desk and put down the documents.

Hanna looked at him. “You shouldn’t drink too much. It is bad for your health!”

He looked at her calmly and suddenly asked, "How long will you stay this time?"

Hanna thought for a while and replied, “I don't know, forever, maybe”

Ben looked aside at her, then he pondered for a few seconds.

Hanna caught a glimpse of the documents and asked, “Have you been busy lately? I heard the Crawford Group’s new product is about to be released.”

“Yeah.”

His reply was simple and decisive, which made it harder to read the emotions in it.

Hanna smiled. She somehow looked a bit disappointed.

“Then I’ll leave you alone. I got to go now. Bye.”

As she spoke, she turned and walked out.

A few steps later, she staggered on her feet and almost fell.

Her legs went limp as she kept on walking. Suddenly, Ben pulled her arm from behind and she fell directly into his arms.

The moment he touched her, he felt that her palm was in heat!

Ben frowned and felt her forehead with his hand. Then he asked, “Are you having a fever?”

“It's okay. It’s just a cold. You should go back to work. I'll take some pills and I’ll be fine!” Hanna said firmly, but her trembling body gave her away.

She couldn't even stand still. Fortunately, Ben was supporting her, otherwise, she would have fallen again.

“I'm fine!” She replied as she pushed away his hand, “I should go...”

Yet she failed to break free from his arms. “Ben, I...”

“I'll take you to the hospital!”

Ben picked her up by the waist and carried her downstairs quickly.

Outside the ER of the hospital, Ben said to an attending, “She is allergic to common anti-inflammatory drugs for the cold!”

“Got it, Mr. Crawford.”

Ben stared at the closed door of the rescue room with his back leaned against the corridor wall, expressionless.

He was like a perfectly carved statue.

At the corner of the stairs not far away, Claudia stood there and looked at him.
