Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 136

Monique happily told Nick her phone number, who then dialed the number.

“Fate brought us together in this chaotic world, but destiny also made us fall in love in the hardest times. Maybe our future is light years away, but I am willing to wait for you in the unknown…”, Monique’s phone rang.

“Your ringtone sounds nice. Fate brought us together,” Nick casually said.

The way he said it sounded so flirtatious—how awkward!

“Ahem...” Monique was shaken by his words, then she recovered after a while. “You’re so funny.”

“I’m leaving. I shall ask you out again next time.” Nick slightly raised his thin lips into a cunning smile and made a telephoning gesture with his hand.

“Hmm.” Monique nodded lightly. She felt inexplicably relieved after she left.

Monique had a simple meal at noon before she started taking requests again. Her working hour passed especially fast. Monique went back to the Moore manor close to dinner time.

Henry brought Little Angel to the company that day so they should be coming home together at night.

Monique happily bought a cup of coffee and snacks back home.

On the 23rd floor of Marriott International, everyone at the general manager’s office outside of the chairman’s office were all working overtime. However, it was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

The chairman was looking gloomy after he came back from lunch. His curvy lips were pressed tightly, as frost was caught in his dark eyes like the Hades walking out of hell. Everyone could not help but shiver in fear.

Little Angel clamored to have lunch with her mother and Henry initially planned to pick Monique up for a meal, but he saw her holding a man’s hand. Their behavior looked intimate.

He was shocked by the thought of it.

Who was that man? How were they related?
