By now, everyone was well aware that Igor was rumored to be Brian’s future brother–in–law. If Ariana personally made such a claim at the banquet, the guests would undoubtedly believe her.
Brian’s expression turned colder. “Does Ariana really think can’t do anything to st
Emily remained silent.
Brian looked up. “Where is Igor being held right now?”
“Mr. Lodge, he is in the basement at the Lodge residence. It’s been a day already.”
her?”
The basement of that house was dark and had no bathroom. It was literally a dark and airless room with nothing but a ventilation fan. Most people couldn’t stand being in there for more than a few hours. A full day there was borderline excessive.
“So, Ariana wants to take her useless brother away? Then, let her come to me and beg for it herself.” Brian sneered. He originally planned to make her wait for hours to remind her of the vast gap between them. But Ariana wasn’t playing by his rules.

Not long after, Emily returned to the lounge.
There, she found Ariana lounging comfortably in her chair, scrolling idly through her phone and sipping her coffee. She looked utterly relaxed, showing not even a hint of urgency to save her brother.
Her calm demeanor left Emily more anxious. “Ms. Torrey, Mr. Lodge has invited you to his office,” Emily said.
“Oh? Isn’t he in a meeting? I’m in no rush,” Ariana replied, setting her coffee down with deliberate calmness before standing up. “Alright, but I need to use the restroom first. By the way, where is the restroom?”
Emily watched Ariana’s unhurried demeanor and grew increasingly anxious. Mr. Lodge wanted Ariana to wait for him, but here she was, turning the tables and making him wait instead!

In the CEO’s office, Brian was starting to get frustrated after waiting for Ariana for a while.
When Emily returned alone, Brian’s gaze turned cold. “Where is she?” he asked sharply.
“She’s… in the restroom.”
“What? The restroom?”
Brian’s face darkened further. This was a first. No one had ever dared to make him wait because they had to use
the restroom.
“Mr. Lodge, women often take longer in the restroom. I’m sure she will be here shortly…” Emily said, though she knew how absurd it sounded. It had already been 15 minutes!
