Chapter 233
All the students assumed William had come about Evelyn’s study abroad opportunity. Instead, William singled Maddie out. “Maddie Hicks”
Maddie’s entire body went stiff. “Yes…”
She stood nervously, not knowing what William was here for.
Just then, one of his bodyguards handed William a freshly printed notice. Without even looking at it, he tossed it to Maddie. “You’re expelled.”
The paper fell straight to the floor in front of Maddie.
She blurted out, “That’s impossible!”
She hurriedly picked it up and tore open the envelope. Inside was indeed an official notice of expulsion.
Seeing this, she froze, unable to believe her eyes.
Expelled…
Why?
Maddie turned desperately to Evelyn.
Evelyn’s face had also gone pale.
Everyone knew Maddie was Evelyn’s close friend. For William to walk in and toss an expulsion notice at her in front of the entire class was like giving Evelyn a public slap in the face.
“Mr. Kingsman, there must be some misunderstanding. This has to be a mistake!” Maddie tried to explain, stumbling over her words.
William asked expressionlessly, “A misunderstanding? You bullied and injured a classmate. The library’s surveillance footage captured the entire incident, and the hospital has issued a report on the injury. Your actions amount to both intentional harm and school bullying. The police will take you in. I’d like everyone here to remember that you’re all adults, and you’re responsible for your behavior under the law.”
The classroom fell silent.
At that moment, the police stepped inside. One officer looked at Maddie. “Maddie Hicks? Come with us, please.”
Maddie went white as a sheet. Graduation was just around the corner. She never imagined she’d be expelled and taken into custody by the police.
She looked at Evelyn and called out, “Evelyn! Evelyn, help me! Evelyn!”
However, Evelyn didn’t dare to get involved. It wasn’t just because of William’s presence but also because Maddie’s expulsion was set in stone.
On top of that, Maddie would have a criminal record. In their social circle, nobody wanted any connection with a person like that..
The police took Maddie away, leaving the classroom in stunned silence.
Everyone knew William was the president of Kingsman Co and taught at Glea College only out of personal interest. Normally, he wouldn’t get involved in such matters.
