Chapter 263
Hearing what Brian said, Fiona immediately stood up and explained anxiously, “Mr. Lodge, it’s not like that. My aunt isn’t that kind of person. It was my idea to repay you. It has nothing to do with her.”
Her eyes looked sincere.
Belinda saw that Brian had frightened Fiona. She took Fiona by her side and said, “Alright, alright. Why be so harsh? I think Fiona has a good personality. I like her. I’ll keep her here to take care of me. Since Ariana has already moved out, I’m coming back to live here. If you don’t want Fiona looking after you, then let her look after me. It’s still a way of repaying you.”
Everything Belinda said showed how fond she was of Fional
Fiona seized the opportunity before Brian could speak. “Mrs. Lodge Senior, if you don’t mind, I’d be happy to take care of you.”
“Great. I’ll keep you here.”
Belinda patted the back of Fiona’s hand.
Since Belinda had already made things clear, Brian couldn’t very well say otherwise.
As Brian was about to go upstairs, Fiona added, “Mr. Lodge, I’ve prepared hot water for you, and I’ve also made several of your favorite dishes. If you don’t mind, I can cook anything my cousin can.”
“You can cook too?”
Brian looked interested. Ever since the engagement party, he hadn’t eaten anything Ariana had made.
Fiona nodded. “Yes. I can do a bit. Please give it a try.”
“Bring it up in a while.”
With that, Brian went upstairs..
Seeing that he was willing to try her cooking, Fiona brightened and said eagerly, “I’ll take it right up!”
Brian didn’t reply and just headed upstairs.
Belinda looked at Fiona with satisfaction. She was clever, obedient, and easy to manage. She could be a decent. candidate for a granddaughter–in–law, except her background was too humble to marry into the Lodge family.
However, keeping her around to keep Evelyn in check seemed fitting.
After a while, Fiona arrived at Brian’s door with the food she’d prepared. She knocked but heard no response. She decided to push the door open and enter.
She heard the sound of running water in the bathroom and lushed when she realized he was showering.
Soon, Brian stepped out wearing a loose bathrobe, emanating a distinct masculine charm. His sharp features made Fiona’s cheeks burn even more.
“Leave the food and go.”
Seeing how cold his attitude was, Fiona quickly said, “It’s my first day here, so I’m not sure what flavors you like. I wanted to hear your thoughts. If there’s anything you don like, I can fix it.”
“You won’t have a chance to fix anything,” Brian said cold
“Because you won’t be staying in this house for long.
