Chapter 350
Simon sighed at Victor. “Fine, I’ll go buy the groceries. You two talk”
With that, he grabbed the car keys and headed out.
“Why did he leave so quickly?” Ariana craned her neck to look outside, but Victor stepped forward, blocking her
view.
He said, “Where’s the ointment I gave you?”
“It’s been in my pocket the whole time.” Ariana took out the small bottle.
Victor took it from her. “Come here.”
Although she didn’t understand why, Ariana followed him to the living room, where he motioned for her to sit on the couch. Then, he began applying the ointment to the back of her hand.
Ariana gasped as a sharp sting shot through her skin. Victor was using way too much pressure.
Victor glanced at her and his touch unconsciously grew more gentle. He had never applied medicine before, so he hadn’t realized how much force he used.
Women were delicate. And a slight touch seemed enough to hurt them.
“How about now?” Victor mumbled.
Ariana replied, “It doesn’t hurt but feels a little itchy.”
She tried to pull her hand back. “I think I can do it myself.”
to anyone
But Victor didn’t let go of her wrist. His voice remained indifferent. “Can you manage with just one hand?”
“Well, it’s not that difficult…” She had always applied her own medicine when she lived alone. It wasn’t too much. trouble. But opening the bottle cap did take some effort.
She looked at Victor’s face as he carefully applied the ointment. No matter how she looked at him, he seemed perfect from every angle.
Even though he was usually cold and unsmiling, he seemed like a gentleman when he showed some attentiveness.
As she was lost in thought, Victor suddenly pulled his hand away. “Do you have any other injuries?‘
“Everywhere you look, basically.” Ariana had only meant to make a lighthearted remark to ease the awkwardness. But in truth, her body was covered in bruises.
She had taken a severe beating from the female inmates at the police station.
Those women had probably been through some brutal experiences because they didn’t hold back when they attacked Ariana.
Her arms, thighs, and even her face were bruised. There was even a faint bluish mark at the corner of her lips.
“Roll up your pant leg,” Victor ordered.
Ariana hesitated, finding the request odd.
But before she could respond, Victor added, “Are you waiting for me to do it for you?”
“No, I’ve got it.” Ariana obediently rolled up her pant leg.
