Chapter 355
Ariana continued eating leisurely.
Eventually, Victor withdrew his gaze. “The result came back empty.”
Ariana sighed in relief. She knew it. Victor was just trying to mess with her.
Simon laughed awkwardly. “It’s not funny at all. Victor just loves telling lame jokes. Don’t take it to heart, Ms. Torrey.”
“Of course not, I don’t mind.” Ariana set down her spoon. “But it’s getting late. I should be heading back.”
Simon quickly stood up. “Already? You don’t want to stay a little longer?”
“No, I have an exam tomorrow. I’d like to go home and rest Thank you for the ointment, Dr. Finch. I’ll leave now.” Ariana put on her coat.
She was about to leave when Victor also set down his spoon. “I’ll take you home.”
“There’s no need.” Ariana shook her head.
“Are you planning to walk home?” Victor cocked a brow.
Ariana hadn’t driven here. She wouldn’t even be able to find the exit without Victor leading the way.

‘… I’ll leave it to you, Mr. Smith.” Ariana hummed.
Since he had brought her here, it was only natural he took her back.
Outside the Smith residence, Victor opened the car door for her.
Ariana hummed. That was quite the gentlemanly move.
She got in, and Victor started the car. The ride was quiet.
Ariana couldn’t understand why Victor had insisted on driving her back. Did he suspect she was Susan from Warto Group?
But that was impossible. William had forged her identity. There was no way it could be uncovered so soon.
Even Brian couldn’t find anything. Victor definitely wouldn’t be able to either.
At a fork in the road, Victor suddenly spoke. “I’ll give you one more chance to tell the truth.”
“What?” Before Ariana could react, the car lurched forward.
The sudden acceleration slammed her back into the seat.
Victor was now driving over the speed limit, and she swore she had just seen a roadblock get knocked over.
“Victor Smith! Are you insane? This road is closed off for a reason!” Ariana tried to make him stop.
It was pitch dark outside. The streetlights had been broken for ages which was why it had been blocked off. They could easily crash without high beams.
Victor remained unfazed. “There’s a broken bridge ahead. We’ll go down together if you don’t tell the truth.
“What?” Ariana froze. “Are you serious?”
