Chapter 48
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at William. He looked frosty, and his tone was equally so. “Ask them what they did.”
Brian frowned. Isaac looked at the two men William had thrown into the room and recognized them as two scions who often hung out with Vance. “Have you two done something to upset Mr. Kingsman? Why aren’t you talking?”
The two exchanged a look at Isaac’s question. Then, one said flippantly, “It’s just Vance. Ariana pissed Mr. Lodge off today, so Vance wanted to teach her a lesson.”
Everyone in the upper crust knew that Brian and William were sworn rivals. The two scions had followed Vance’s lead and chosen to side with Brian, so they stopped being scared of William when they saw Brian was around.
The other one said, “Vance said Mr. Lodge gave him the green light to chase after Ariana. Since she’s upset Mr. Lodge, it’s only right for him to teach her a lesson and take her down a notch. You’re sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong, Mr. Kingsman. Mr. Lodge is just giving Ariana a little punishment!”
Brian’s expression darkened at their words, and everyone turned to look at him. They all knew what a bad reputation Vance had he liked forcing himself on women before brushing them off with money. He’d only held back before this because Ariana was slated to be Brian’s fiancée.
But now, the engagement was going to be called off. They didn’t expect Brian to give Vance the permission to go after Ariana, though. It looked like she’d thoroughly pissed him off this time. It went without saying how she would end up once she was in Vance’s hands!
William snorted at the two scions‘ words and gave Brian a contemptuous look. “Oh, so you gave the green light for this. I’ve learned a lot from you, Mr. Lodge. It looks like you won’t hesitate to employ extreme methods against
Women.”
He turned to leave.
The two scions didn’t notice the tension in the air. One of them even pointed at William’s back and shouted, “He just thinks he’s a big deal because of the Kingsman family! How dare he act so obnoxiously to Mr. Lodge’s face?”
“Exactly! Mr. Lodge gave the green light to go after Ariana–it’s what she deserves after offending him!”
Brian clenched his glass so tightly that it shattered in his hand, making the two men fall silent. Everyone watched him with bated breath; even Evelyn was taken aback. “Brian…”
“M–Mr. Lodge…” The two scions seemed to finally notice the menace in Brian’s

eyes. They started feeling scared.
Ariana was in a hotel room. She smelled a sickly sweetness in the air–it made her want to puke. She opened her eyes with difficulty to see that the room was lit by a dark, red light. The ceiling was made of reflective glass, and she lay on a round water bed. The room oozed sex.
