When Ariana had witnessed Brian and Evelyn’s intimacy in her past life, Brian had walked up to her and said, Since you’ve chosen to be my fiancée, you should’ve been prepared for this.
“Everything I do is none of your business, and you’d better learn to tolerate me without losing your temper.” Now Ariana returned those words to him and mirrored every word he’d said.
Sure enough, Brian’s expression darkened. His eyes gleamed with anger as he snapped, “If you want to cozy up William, shouldn’t you mind the occasion? You slapped Lila in front of the entire school and humiliated Eve. Don’t you think you’ve gone too far?”
Ariana replied, “What’s done is done. What do you expect me to do about it?”
“Apologize to Evelyn and her friends in front of the entire college. Do I have to say that myself?”

Ariana noticed Brian blatantly taking sides with Evelyn and said, “You came here demanding an explanation with
actions?” all these people without asking why I acted the way I did. Why don’t you ask the reason behind my “What reason could there be? Isn’t it because of those rumors? Eve is already suffering from cyberbullying, so isn’t that enough for you? What more do you want?”
William who’d been silent finally couldn’t take it anymore. He got up and said, “Pardon me for interrupting, bot are your eyes not functioning?”
He stepped closer and pointed to Ariana’s face. “Do you even see what’s on Ms. Torrey’s face? Didn’t you notice that clear handprint?”
Brian frowned. He’d been so consumed by anger that he hadn’t noticed the red slap mark on Ariana’s face.
It wasn’t too obvious under the dim blue lightning of the restaurant, but there was a clear mark upon closer inspection.
“Well it seems that you’re not blind after all, Mr. Lodge. Now think, who could’ve slapped her? Ms. Torrey had just been returning the favor. Nothing more to that,” William coldly explained.
“What do you mean by that?”
“If you want answers, it’s better if you ask Ms. Granger.
William coldly continued, “I hate being disturbed halfway through my meal, Mr. Lodge. Please leave and send your men away so we can finish our meal in peace.”
“William, let’s get one thing straight. She’s my fiancée,” Brian said as he wrapped an arm possessively around Ariana’s waist.
His display of dominance made William chuckle. “Oh really? If you hadn’t said so, I wouldn’t have known. I imagine most people wouldn’t know either based on the way you were standing up for Ms. Granger. They might even think Ms. Granger is your fiancée instead.”
Brian’s face darkened at William’s words.
