Ariana and Selena hid on the first floor of the building, Selena muttered, “Damn, there are so many people. What’s Brian up to?” 

“I don’t know what his problem is this time,” Ariana replied, frowning. 

In her past life, she had relentlessly pursued Brian, but he had always remained indifferent. He had never gone to such lengths to find her. 

So, why was he suddenly so eager to pursue her now that she wanted to call off the engagement? 

“Selena, it’s not safe here. We need to go. 

“Okay!” 

She grabbed Ariana’s hand, ready to dash toward the women’s restroom on the upper floor, but before they could move far, they ran straight into the school security guards 

“Run!” 

Ariana pulled Selena along, desperate to escape, but Brian was already standing at the entrance of the first building. 

With a gloomy expression, Brian said, “Ariana, where do you think you’re going?” 

Ariana was stunned. 

Selena interrupted, “Mr. Lodge, Ari is here to study. Why have you brought all these people? What exactly do you want?” 

“Study?” 

Brian strode over to Ariana, grabbed her arm, and sneered, “Didn’t you drop out of school? Do you really think you can just come back here and I won’t do anything about it?” 

Ariana winced as his grip tightened. She glared at him and said firmly, “Brian, this is a school. What are you trying to pull?” 

Brian’s voice turned icy as he leaned closer. “What am I trying to do? Haven’t I made it clear? You’re my fiancée. You don’t get to leave without my permission.” 

Ariana glared at Brian and retorted sharply, “Brian, don’t you think you’re a bit too full of yourself? I’m your fiancée, not your possession. Why can’t I leave if I want to?” 

Ariana’s words left the bodyguards stunned, and even Selena was taken aback. 

This was Brian. 

No one in Gleaston ever dared speak to him like that. 

The last person who did was probably six feet under. 

“Don’t forget, Ariana. If you don’t listen to me, I can take action against the Torreys at any time,” Brian warned coldly. 

Ariana remained unfazed by Brian’s repeated threats involving the Torrey family. 

“Brian, I’ve already agreed to move into the Lodge residence. You have your work, and I have my studies. Let’s not push this too far. If it comes down to it, we can fight this to the bitter end.”

The atmosphere instantly grew tense. 

Outside the building, Maddie and Lila spotted Brian arriving with a group of people. They quickly assumed he was here for Evelyn and wasted no time nudging her forward. 

“Evelyn,” 

“Maddie said, “Mr. Lodge must be here to apologize for what happened last time. Look how many people he’s brought with him! Just forgive him already.” 

“Exactly!” Lila chimed in. “Coming here with so many people clearly shows how much he cares. You two should patch things up.”
