I can see only energy of everything around me when I opened my eyes. I put my hands on the right side of Leo’s chest. I heard his bones reshaping and mending to their original position. He screamed from the pain and tried to move away but the others held him down. His lower four ribs were broken. The middle two of the four were crushed. One down three to go. I moved my hands up to the second one and joined his rib. Then third and then fourth. He kept on screaming every time I moved his bones. He must be in a lot of pain. I don’t want him to die.
It's getting hard to breath but I have to do this. I can’t stop till he is completely healed. I got up to get on his other side but the world swirled around me. Someone kept me from falling. I looked up to find Asher. I don't know how I can still recognize him when I am only seeing bright lights. I took in a breath and moved to Leo's left side, still a bit dizzy. I can’t let him die.
"Don't do this Amy. You can die. I just got you. I can't lose you." Asher said in a broken desperate voice.
"It's just a possibility. If I don't do this he will die. Why shouldn't I save him when I can? He is the pack's alpha. He needs to be alive. I don't think I have to tell you the importance of an alpha to a pack. He is important to this pack. Even if I have to die for him to survive, I will do it. You told me I am a part of this pack right. I will protect my alpha with my life." I said to him smiling.
Asher didn't press on it anymore. Leo's breath was coming in short pants, like he was struggling to breath. His entire rib cage was broken on this side. I don't know how he survived this long. I won't be wrong if I say his lung might be hurt. That's why blood is coming out of his mouth. I wasted no time and started healing his ribs. I healed the bottom two ribs but Leo started gurgling blood. He looked like he is chocking on his own blood. My eyes widened. I started healing his upper ribs and left lung. After healing his upper half of the ribs and his lung, his breathing became normal. I healed the remaining ribs and took a deep breath. He will survive. Just a few days of rest and he will be as good as new due to his fast healing. He isn't conscious yet but he will wake up in a few hours, I think. The others were happy about their alpha's well-being.
I put my hands on my lap and closed my eyes. I opened them and everything came back to normal. No more bright lights. It's getting hard to breath. It feels like someone is squishing my lungs and they are not getting enough space to fill air in them. Everything started spinning. A drop of blood fell on my hand. I touched my nose to find it bleeding. Tears weld up in my eyes. I am feeling sharp pain with every breath I took. My chest hurts really badly. I started gasping for air. I was about to fall backwards but Asher caught me. All the commotion that was going around me stopped or did my ears go numb?
"No no no. Amy stay with me okay. I will get you to the hospital in no time. Don't close your eyes please. Look at me." He said frantically. He seems really worried about me.
"Chest…hurts…can't…breathe." I managed to say. I wanted to tell him that I will be fine and to stop worrying about me but I can’t.
The ends of my vision started to blur. I feel so tired. I wanted to close my eyes and take a long nap. I felt someone pick me up.
"Amy keep your eyes open. You are going to get through this princess." papa's voice felt so distant.
"Please stay with me." I don't know who said that but after that I slipped into the darkness.
I heard beeping around me. I tried to open my eyes but it felt like my eyelids have something heavy on them. My body feels like I was run over by a truck. After a lot of struggle, I opened my eyes but shut them immediately due to the blinding white light. I opened my eyes again to adjust them to the light. Various tubes are sticking out of me. I have a breathing mask on. My body feels stiff. I turned my head slightly to find Asher sleeping with his head on the side of my bed, near my right hand. I lifted my fingers and touched his hair.
"Asher", it came out as whisper, a hoarse sound. Is that my voice? My throat feels dry and scratchy. I need water.
He jolted up fast and stood in front of me protectively looking everywhere but towards me. His back is facing me. He rubbed his hands on his face and turned around. His eyes landed on me and a series of emotions passed through his eyes. Happiness, longing, love, relief and much more. He stood there like he can't believe what he was seeing. He came near me and held my hand. He sat on the chair he was sleeping before.
"You are awake." He whispered like testing his own words. I nodded lightly, "Oh my god! What am I doing? I should go call the doctor. I will be right back baby." He kissed my forehead and dashed out. My idiotically adorable mate. Geez what am I thinking? I blushed but the action seemed to send an ache to my head.
I looked at the white ceiling. I saved a life. It feels really good. The door opened and the doctor came in with Asher right on his tail. The doctor removed my oxygen mask and lifted the upper half of the bed a little with a remote type thing attached to the bed. Asher placed a glass of water to my mouth and I drank greedily.
"I am Dr. Brown. How are you feeling Ms. Cross?" the doctor asked checking my vitals.
