A Healer’s Journey (Finnegan and Nuthana) Novel novel Chapter 292

Chapter 292 I Am Well

After driving Sapphire away, Queenie turned on the shower in tears. She scrubbed her body incessantly with a bath sponge, all the while cursing, “F*ck! Finnegan, you won’t meet a good end!”

She even took the toothbrush from the washbasin, squeezed a lot of toothpaste on it, and said, “I won’t let you off, b*stard! You son of a b*tch!”

After washing for more than ten minutes, Queenie finally stopped.

Yet, the tears still wouldn’t stop. “Finnegan!”

Although she didn’t lose her body in the past half hour, it felt almost as if she had.

Often, she was compelled to do as she was told because of the recording in Finnegan’s possession.

That made her feel increasingly stifled, her delicate features contorting in frustration. “Just you wait! I’m not someone to be tricked with!”

Suppressing the frustration and anger within, she left the bathroom, got dressed, and went to her parents’

room.

Millicent and Timothy were both present.

Seeing her come in with swollen red eyes and a desolate expression, Millicent quickly asked, “Queenie, what’s going on? Why did your mom say you’ve been crying and that you’re emotionally distraught?”

Queenie wanted to cry.

But in the end, she held back, replying without any expression, “Finnegan has never believed that your apologies were sincere from the start. He has been on guard ever since he arrived at the Zimmerman residence. Even his drunkenness was feigned. The moment I entered the room, he stopped me.”

Millicent’s face slightly changed when she heard that. “Finnegan was pretending to be drunk, and he knows everything?”

Sapphire then asked, “If Finnegan was just pretending, then why didn’t you come out for over half an hour? Were you just sitting naked in the bathroom the whole time?”

Queenie’s heart broke when she heard that.

However, she was too ashamed to admit that Finnegan had his way with her. She said, “Finnegan started recording on his phone before I entered the room. If it’s made public, Grandpa will definitely not let us off the hook. So, I gave in and, as per his instructions, sat in the bathroom under cold water for half an hour as a lesson.”

Under-normal circumstances, Millicent and others would certainly be able to tell that Queenie was not telling the truth.

However, everyone’s attention was focused on the unsuccessful plan, so no one noticed that there was something off about Queenie’s tone.

Timothy slammed his fist into the pillow. “D”mn it! Finnegan is so cunning. If I had known he was faking

it, I would have definitely given him a good beating when he left.”

“All right. You wouldn’t stand a chance if it really came to a fight.” Bishop snorted. “Mom, what should we do now? That guy has a recording. It would be disastrous if Dad heard it! Moreover, after tonight’s incident, Finnegan will trust us even less. It will be even harder to plan something like this against him next time.”

Millicent sighed lightly. “It’s not just more difficult. It’s completely impossible now.”

Upon hearing this, Bishop anxiously asked, “What should we do, then? Are we just going to watch as Dad hands over the entire Zimmerman family and Firebird Group to Patrick?”

With a throbbing headache, Millicent couldn’t think of a better solution at the moment.

However, she still tried to comfort Bishop and his family as much as possible. “Don’t worry. Your father probably wants to announce it on the company’s forty-eighth anniversary. We still have a chance before that.”

With that, she added, “But keep your actions subtle, especially when it comes to dealing with Patrick’s family. We don’t want to provoke Finnegan into releasing that recording. If he does, we’ll all be in trouble. Think of another way to handle it, Queenie. If you can’t take down Finnegan, at least destroy that recording. Otherwise, even if he just gives the recording to Bernice, I won’t be able to help you!”

Queenie absentmindedly nodded.

It seemed that Millicent didn’t notice her peculiarity. She turned to Sapphire and instructed, “Wait a bit before you tell Bernice that Finnegan has left. But be careful not to arouse her suspicion. Just say that Finnegan left on his own after sobering up.”

“Okay”

With the recording in his possession, Finnegan didn’t dwell on Queenie’s matter after leaving the Zimmerman residence. He took a cab to the Sable family’s garden.

The legal team that Alisha hired had already finalized all the details of the transfer.

Afterward, Alisha simply explained it to Finnegan.

All that was needed was for Finnegan to sign the few contracts that Reginald had already stamped and signed.

Just like that, he could immediately gain control of thirty-five percent of the shares in Regi Group and one hundred percent of the control rights.

However, Finnegan wasn’t particularly interested in that. All he wanted was to ensure that the Sable family could no longer pose a threat to him.

Seeing Finnegan swiftly signing his name, Reginald’s heart was trembling, bleeding.

The moment Finnegan signed his name, it signified the collapse of decades of his hard work.

Yet, being at the mercy of Finnegan, Reginald dared not reveal the slightest hint of his feelings.

After signing the documents, Finnegan tossed the pen aside. “Vixen, see these lawyers out.”

Knowing that Finnegan wanted her to caution the lawyers not to speak recklessly, Alisha nodded and led a few of the Wahlstrom family’s elites to escort the lawyers out.

At this moment, Reginald’s voice trembled as he said, “Can the people be evacuated now? Can Mike be taken to the hospital?”

With a cold laugh, Finnegan asked, “You seem dissatisfied. Why’s that?”

Devastated, Reginald retorted, “If it were you, would you accept it?”

Reginald had just given up ninety percent of the assets willingly.

He was naturally dissatisfied.

Finnegan laughed nonchalantly. “It’s fine. Even if you’re not satisfied, you can only hold it in. Otherwise, I won’t mind kicking your family out of the game and swallowing up the last two percent of your shares.”

Reginald’s face stiffened.
