Chapter 188
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 58
Rowan’s POV
“Zack, his name is Zack,” she answered. Mika still didn’t let go of her hair. The name didn’t sound familiar to me or Mika. I turned to Gideon and he shrugged.
“So What? My name is Mika and I’ll fucking kill you if you don’t keep talking,”
Mika threatened again.
I told her to calm down a bit and she glared at me. This was the real Mika. The one hidden behind the facade. She was like a tamed beast who was to be feared but somehow, she had presented herself to people like a fair leader. I’d always seen behind the facade but with the look on Gideon’s face, I don’t think he has.
“He’s a vampire,”
The girl answered as I was about to tell Mika to let her go. A vampire?
I knew it.
The horrible smell that emanated from him was because he was a vampire. He wasn’t even in camouflage, he came into my pack as his real nature, a fucking bloodsucker.
What was his intention exactly? What was the connection between all of them?
The man from my past, Harriette, the scar–faced woman, and now, a vampire called Zack.
“What’s your connection with this vampire? Is he a friend?” I asked the girl.
“No! I ran away from him but I swear I don’t have vampire blood running through my veins,” the girl answered.
“Why did you run away from him?”
She shook her head.
“I’ll die if I tell you,” she answered. “But you can ask Harriette and Ella. They would have better…”
Mika didn’t wait for the girl to finish her words before she kicked her into a corner.
“Did you guys come from the same place? You and Harriette,” Mika asked her.
The girl shook her head. “No,”
“So, why should they tell your story?”
Mika asked sinisterly. She was right. “Trying to make a fool out of us?”
Mika asked again.
She was rolling up the sleeves of her shirt.
“Get her out of here before Mika kills her,”
“Alpha Rowan!” Mika snarled.
Her new toy was right in front of her and I was taking it away from her. She had to be just mad at me.
“Mika, stand down, understood?”
“She still has a lot to say,” she snapped.
Through gritted teeth and controlled anger, I answered, “I have better things to worry about, Mika. You go home and get some good sleep. If you come back tomorrow with this attitude, I swear that I’ll do something we’ll both regret. Understood?”
I threatened.

Chapter 188
She took a step back from me and bowed before walking away. She hit Gideon squarely on the shoulder as she walked out.
I understood she was angry because of me but if she killed the girl, there was no way we would get any information out of her. Knowing Mika well, once the girl starts proving useless at giving answers, it wouldn’t take Mika five seconds to snap her neck.
Soon, I was left alone in the CCTV room.
I ran my fingers through my hair trying to make a connection out of everyone and everything and after thirty minutes, nothing came up. I couldn’t come up with something helpful or meaningful. I could’ve asked Thorne for help but that bastard had an empty skull. Anything unrelated to violence was out of his league.
In the end, I only came up with one decision. I had to protect my pack and to do that, I had to unleash the beast inside of me.
So, I did the unthinkable.
“Your Royal Highness,” I said as the call was answered and I heard the voice of the person on the other end of the line.
“Rowan?”
He asked in disbelief that I could actually call him.
“Yes,”
He laughed and then pushed. “What do you want? You want something, don’t you?”
The King asked.
Of course, I wanted something. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have called him or reached out to him even if he was dying.
“I need your help,”
“I never thought this day would come that my own son would call me to ask for my help,”
“Don’t get too excited. It’s not supposed to excite you,” I snapped.
I was getting too restless for him to keep saying unnecessary things.
“What do you want?”
“I need to unleash a beast. How do I go about it?”
I asked in distress.
“What do you mean? What beast are you talking about?”
“A Lycan,” I answered him sharply. I knew how to control Thorne and get him out as often as possible even though I hadn’t mastered how to stop him from showing up unannounced but about the Lycan, I had no fucking idea how to do it.
It was more dormant than active inside of me.
“Why do you need to unleash a Lycan, Rowan? They’re dangerous beings. He could contend for the throne from you,”
Fucking hell! Why did I think to call him for help? Why did I believe he had any help to render? All he can think about is the throne and the fucking throne all the damn time.
“I wasted my time believing you could be of help,” I spat, ready to end the call.
