DARIUS POV

Two days later, I opened my eyes in Jethro’s cell. He was still holding me hostage just like he promised. Jethro was a man of his words, it’s just sometimes he can’t handle any of his words alone not to talk of the repercussions.

He did just as I wanted. Keep me hostage, call out his informants in my pack, and let them rejoice, thinking they’ve finally gotten a hold of me.

I took a deep breath as I placed my back against the wall. My hand went to where I was shot and I could only feel a bit of pain right there. I wasn’t shot with a gun, it was a fucking tranquilizer,

I wasn’t surprised at this. He wouldn’t kill off Darius Darkwood like that when he could brag about it to his other Rogue Kings. Maybe that’ll increase his rank among his peers or give him that prestige he wanted. I walked into his territory knowing fully well he wouldn’t get rid of me like an ant. I was far too important.

The door was suddenly thrown open. It was one of Jethro’s stupid men.

“You’ve been summoned,” The man announced. He was standing at a reasonable distance away from me. I wasn’t chained to anything or even handcuffed.

We got to Jethro’s throne room and the large door was opened. He’d made for himself a palace on that land. I could see a few slaves and servants in the room.

The slaves were naked, chained to the wall, and had hungry looks on their faces. They were tired, beaten, and weak. You could see the wounds on their dry skins and you could count the bones that lined their bodies from how skinny they were.

I believe they were mostly humans and the rest were Omegas. People missing from their homes. Unknown to their families, they were been used as sex slaves in Jethro’s kingdom.

“Stop staring, Alpha Darius, you’ll bore a hole in their bodies,” 

A voice piqued. I lifted my head to see one of my elders grinning widely as he took another look at me. To his right, was one more from the pack. Right behind me was another who held a high rank among the warriors in my pack.

He came to my front and handcuffed me.

“Thank you for doing this,” I lifted the handcuffed hand to his face. “I was this close to tearing your heads off your neck,” he lifted his eyebrow,
