Chapter 635
This was the first time Sage carved out a small airplane sculpture using jade. The tiny airplane looked so adorable and cute in her hand. There were lights sparkling in her spirited big eyes. She reminisced the way Yale the Iceman looked on the plane when he rescued her and wondered how does he look like when he was flying the plane.
As she imagined it, she spun the carving knife on the tip of her fingers. Her lips curled up and carved another two small people with the carving knife onto the plane. One of the people was flying the plane without any emotion on his face and the other one was sleeping soundly at the back of the plane.
“I’m really asking for it myself.” She was really impressed with her creativity and started to imagine the expression on Captain Yale’s face when he received the present. It might probably be the same expression when he accidentally ate something too bitter. She laughed out loud without actually making any sound. After the carving was done, she blew it and was ready to take it to the workshop for polishing. The notification sound beeped twice from her phone. After twisting her sore wrist, she looked at her phone.
It was a message from Zachary. He texted, (Sage, how are you? All of us are worried about you. Are you better now?]
Her heart felt warm knowing that Zachary had been thinking and worrying about her all the time. She replied a voice message back to him. On the other side of the phone, Jace was holding the phone in his hand feeling very nervous after sending out the message. When he saw the voice message from Sage, he suddenly felt very nervous. He swallowed and played the voice message. His heart raced when he heard the familiar voice.
With her gentle and clear voice, she said, “I’m doing quite well. Tell them there’s nothing to worry about.”
This was the first time he finally get to hear her voice after the air disaster. Jace felt like his heart was being squished by someone. It was just a light squish but it made him have the desire and impulse to jump into the phone and teleported to where she is. Actually, the thing he dreaded the most was to be able to video call her to listen to her voice and look at her face. However, he did not dare to do so… He could only pretend to be someone else, like Zachary, to contact her and that was the only way she would reply back. If one day, Sage found out that the person who had been contacting her was him instead of Zachary, then he would once again lose the way to contact her. His number would be blacklisted and removed.
Jace did not dare to risk it. That was why he had to control himself. After taking a few deep breaths, he slowly typed out another text message, (I’m happy to hear that. Where you are now? Still in Birmingham? Is it fun over there?] Sage replied with another voice message, “Yeap, it’s quite fun. But too bad I’m being grounded
and not allowed to go out. I can only stay at home for the time being.” Her voice was full of sorrow as she complained to Zachary like a student who got punished for bad behavior. Well, at least, she thought she was complaining to Zachary. She knew Zachary used to be grounded very often in the past so she felt like he knew how she was feeling. As Jace listened to her childish complaints, he chuckled and replied, (Grounded? Too bad for you then. Who grounded you and Why?)
Sage replied, “No one other than my evil eldest brother. Why is there a creature like a brother existing in this world? He only knows how to bully his younger brother and sister. My eldest brother is a lot scarier than your eldest brother.” Jace lifted the corner of his lips. “Am I really that scary? Zachary that punk. Has he been talking bad about me with Sage?’
Shortly after Sage replied to the text message, Tim knocked on the door and entered the room. It scared Sage and she nearly dropped the new phone Tim bought for her.
“T…Tim.”
