Chapter 730 Laura‘s beautiful face blushed and blossomed like a beautiful rose. She nodded, “He asked me to be his girlfriend and I agreed.” 

“Congratulations.” Sage‘s eyes sparkled with surprise. She thought it would take at least eight to ten years for Kane to succeed since the difference in their family background was too wide. 

After placing all the pies on the tray, she put it into the oven. Her interest in gossip appeared,” What did Kane do for you to want to say yes?” 

“Darn, I‘m not a superwoman, you are,” Laura reprimanded and then answered with shyness, “He didn‘t do anything and it wasn‘t that I didn‘t like him. It‘s just that my family objected and that worried me. But I like him so I have to accept him being him. Including his family background of course. I‘m sure we can solve anything as long as we face it together. He is so brave so I should not back up into my shell. I can‘t lose to him.” The way Laura treated her relationship with sincerity and trust made Sage remember her old self. Laura looked down, “To be honest, Jace‘s death had impacted me a lot. Life is short. And with my job, I‘m destined to be in danger moment most of the time. Who knows how long I will be able to live? Why not we just be happy at every possible moment and cherish it till the day we die.” 

Sage smiled bitterly, “You‘re right.” Laura embraced Sage from behind and put her chin on Sage‘s shoulder. She whispered, “Sage, Jace must have hoped for you to live a happy life and so do we.” “I know.” Sage whispered back, “I will live a happy life. Not because of someone else, but only for me.” 

There was a good line from a movie, “You should live a happy life being born into this world.” 

While Sage and Laura were whispering at each other, Kane saw them hugging together from 

afar. He glared at them, “Hey, hey! What are you two doing?” He walked over and pulled Laura away from Sage and made Laura stand beside him. “What are you two doing hugging each other?” He was unsatisfied but he did not dare to talk fiercely at his girlfriend so he could only fire his anger at his sister, “Who gave you permission to hug my girlfriend?” 

‘It‘s not like I have that many chances myself to hug her yet.’ Sage looked at the jealous Kane and was speechless, “Laura is my best friend. What‘s wrong with us hugging each other?” 

“You‘re not allowed to do it anymore.” Kane embraced Laura into his arms domineeringly.” She‘s mine and I‘m not giving her to other people.” 

Sage was out of words. “That‘s so childish!‘ 

Laura placed her face on Kane‘s chest and giggled, “Can I at least hug Sage?” “No!” Kane lowered his head to look at Laura, “You‘re not allowed to hug my sister. You can only hug me.” Fveryone was disgusted with how lovey–dovey Kane was. Luckily Sage came home in time to rescue the pies, they finally had pies for dinner. After the pies were nicely baked, Sage cooked a couple of dishes and their feastful Easter day dinner was ready. 

Everyone took the time off to celebrate together. Kane with his girlfriend, Laura, Seth and his wife, Suki, Nigel and his partner, Sean, and Leah and her fiance Hunter, all of them were set in a pair.
