Chapter 818 Sometimes, Sage had no idea why men preferred fist over talk.
However, watching Yoel and Cole pin Jace to the ground as they cursed and hit him gave her, a stranger, a thrill. She stood aside and watched them, but she felt like beating Jace up too.
It was his fault for dying and living again as if it was a joke. He deceived her and made her cry so much in vain.
“Oh my God... You guys watch where you hit!”
It was rare for Jace to be so docile and soft. He simply lay on the ground and let his friends attack him.
Yoel and Cole punched him several times. They did not use their full force, but the hard punches were still painful to him.
“You bastard!” Yoel‘s eyes were very red from either anger or excitement. He punched Jace hard on the corner of his mouth. “I thought you were f*cking dead! Do you know how hard it was for us to accept that? Do you know how much I cried for you and how much I drank for you? F*ck you!”
Cole was very angry too. He raised his knee to Jace‘s stomach. “You‘re f*cking alive! Why didn‘t you tell us? Are we still your friends?”
The two of them kept cursing and scolding him until they burst into tears. Their punches became weak.
“You‘re still alive... You‘re alive...”
Yoel glared at Jace with his red eyes. Sage had known Yoel for so long, but she had never seen him like this.
Jace‘s mouth was bruised. He sat up and wiped the corner of his mouth with his hand. He looked at them and smiled. Then, he raised his fist.
“F*ck off!” Yoel slapped him away.
Jace was not angry at all. He stuck out his fist to them again. This time, Yoel did not slap it away and fist–bumped him. Cole fist–bumped Jace too.
“D*mn you...” Yoel jumped up and hugged Jace. Cole also hugged him.
For some reason, Sage was very touched to see the trio reunite. Tears welled in her eyes.
She hesitated a little and silently took out her phone to take a photo of this warm moment.
The click sound was not loud but noticeable among the crying noises.
Yoel was sobbing and could barely open his eyes, When he turned his head, he saw Sage holding up her phone camera and taking a photo of them. “What are you doing?”
Sage said with a calm face, “Taking a picture.” Yoel was rendered speechless. “We‘re all crying like this. Instead of comforting us, you‘re
taking a photo of us. Do you have any empathy?” Sage replied swiftly, “No.” Yoel was lost for words.
Jace turned to Sage and said, “Don‘t take me. They beat me in the face earlier. My face with bruises is ugly.”
