A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 112

Ophelia laughed lightly. "If you can't stand to part, I won't split you up."

Melody paused. Ophelia had pushed for her and Jeremy to get engaged in the first place.

She glanced at Jeremy and found him looking back, his stare cool.

Then, came his reply. "You're overthinking. Where she goes has nothing to do with me. I'm only reminding her that she has loose ends to tie up."

Melody nodded. "That's right, Ophelia. I have important things to settle."

Ophelia wanted details. Melody wondered whether she should mention the orphanage but chose caution in the end. "It's personal, and the stakes are high."

After all, the matter with the Regallo Charity Foundation was serious, so Melody didn't dare to tell anyone.

Owen watched her with newfound interest.

Ophelia wanted to ask more, but seeing that Melody clearly didn't want to talk about it, she didn't press further. She just felt a bit disappointed.

Owen smoothed things over. "Once Jeremy and Melody finish their work, we can go then."

Ophelia's mood cooled. "Fine."

Melody felt sorry. Ophelia had once helped her with Tessa, and Melody still owed her thanks. Now, she couldn't even meet a simple request.

After lunch, Ophelia hoped Melody would stay, but Jeremy was ready to leave.

Ophelia looked at Melody warmly. "If you run into trouble, come to me. I'll help."

Melody nodded. "Thank you, Ophelia. I will."
