A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 137

Harold raised his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright, but I'm serious. If you two really have some issues, just lower yourself. I guarantee, if you say just one good word, Melody will be back to being fine with you."

After he said that, he left, and only then did Jeremy stop working. His mood was indeed quite poor, and he didn't want to deal with more issues.

The indifferent look Melody had given him earlier flashed through his mind again, and the corner of his lips tightened.

After Melody and Tiffany finished their business downstairs and returned to the department, they saw Jeremy.

It was gradually getting into summer, but he still wore his white coat crisply and properly.

His dark eyes were deep like a still pond, and though he didn't say anything, it was clear he was waiting for Melody.

Tiffany, who was good at reading the room, immediately made an excuse to leave.

Melody also wanted to leave, but she heard Jeremy speak. "Melody, why are you avoiding me?"

She froze. She was indeed avoiding him, but she hadn't expected him to notice.

Before this, he hadn't cared about her.

Noticing her silence, his mood sank, and his brows furrowed even lower. "Explain yourself."

He had to admit that her actions had been affecting his state of mind recently, so he needed to get to the bottom of it. He wasn't an emotional person and certainly wouldn't let something that affected his thoughts continue to linger. He could always solve any problem rationally.

However, Melody couldn't answer his question. She hesitated, speaking softly. "I'm not avoiding you. It's just that I've been busy with work lately."

He saw through her. "We're in the same department."

She muttered, "It's not just work at the hospital. There are other things."
