A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 172

Ophelia must've heard about Krystal's injury and how Andrew had asked Jeremy and Melody to go to the Wardolf residence for dinner. The next day, she also asked the couple to have dinner at the Chesson residence.

She pulled Melody aside and reminded her, saying, "There's something wrong with Andrew. He still wants Krystal to get engaged to Jeremy."

Melody wasn't sure how to respond to that.

Anyone could've seen that. Moreover, Andrew and Laura had brought this issue up first thing when Krystal rejoined the family.

Ophelia noticed how quiet Melody was. Then, she sighed and said, "Geez. You're a wonderful young lady, but Laura and Andrew have gaslit and manipulated you so much and almost ruined you.

"After Krystal twisted her ankle, did they ask Jeremy to look after her on their behalf?"

Melody hesitantly nodded. "Yeah."

Ophelia smirked. "They don't actually want him to look after her. No, what they want is to make him…" She trailed off when she side-eyed Melody.

Sometimes, things were so messy that it would be upsetting just to hear it.

Instead, Ophelia said, "My point is, you have to remember that you're Jeremy's girlfriend, not anyone else. If you really want to be with him, you have to hold tightly onto your status.

"You can't avoid competition. But sometimes, you just have to let them know who's boss. Otherwise, they'll walk all over you.

"Also, it's best if you make Jeremy reject that sort of thing. You have to win his heart."

When Melody returned to the dining hall, she felt dizzy and disoriented. Ophelia's words were stuck in her head like a broken record.

Win Jeremy's heart?

Melody instinctively looked at Jeremy. He was chatting with Owen about the recent social news, looking as cold and aloof as ever.

Hygiene was something he valued a lot, and all of his clothes were white with similar styles.

There was once when Felicia had privately grumbled to Melody, saying that Jeremy was too old-fashioned. At times, it felt a little rigid and boring.
