Orphy's voice was innocent, and she sounded a little confused, but it rang out loud and clear.
Melody stiffened and lightly pursed her lips.
A puzzled look crossed her face. Had Jeremy really been looking at her this whole time?
However, even with the question running through her mind, she still didn't spare Jeremy a glance and continued folding the paper airplane. Albeit, her actions had slowed down noticeably.
On the other hand, Jeremy had stopped what he had been doing the moment Orphy spoke. He didn't look awkward from being exposed by Orphy. Instead, he looked quite composed. He looked over at her and said, "You're overthinking. I haven't done anything wrong."
Then, he stood up and swept his gaze Melody. "When are you leaving?"
It was already evening, and they had been at the orphanage for the whole afternoon.
Jeremy had clearly sensed that Melody was avoiding and ignoring him, but he felt that her behavior was rather immature and pointless.
He had promised to come to the orphanage, and even though he had been busy in the morning, he had rushed over right after his meeting.
So, what reason did she have to be upset?
Jeremy's patience had fully run out at this point. His dark eyes stayed fixed on Melody as he said, "Are you leaving or not? Stop wasting time."
In order to have come to the orphanage, he had already pushed back some of the case analyses that he had to do. He had fulfilled his promise and had no intention of spending any more time there.
Meanwhile, Melody had just finished folding the paper airplane. She handed it to Taylor, then raised her head to look at Jeremy.
A coldness could already be detected in Jeremy's eyes. He looked ready to stomp right out of there the second Melody answered that she wasn't leaving.
However, Melody only spared him that one glance and lowered her eyes again. Then, she reached for another sheet of paper and started to fold a rose. In a gentle tone, she said, "You can go first. I want to spend more time with them."
She looked around.
