A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 222

Melody briefly paused. Then, she softly said, "Jeremy."

Jeremy turned to her, his eyes calm and indifferent.

She hesitated a moment before asking, "Are you going home now, or do you have other plans?"

"I'm heading over to the Wardolf residence first," Jeremy flatly replied.

Before Melody could respond, Krystal suddenly interjected, "Maybe you should install a surveillance camera in your car, just to make it easier for your girlfriend to keep tabs on you."

Melody looked up at Krystal, who met her stare without flinching. Their eyes locked, sharp and unyielding.

Ever since their confrontation outside the operating room, Krystal had openly shown her disdain toward Melody.

Melody sensed the underlying jab. She lowered her gaze and quietly said, "I was just asking a normal question." As Jeremy's girlfriend, she felt it was only natural to know his plans.

"Why do I suddenly smell a two-faced liar around here?" Tiffany loudly mocked, fanning the air in front of her nose. It was an obvious jab aimed at Krystal.

Krystal's expression hardened. She coldly glanced down at Tiffany before stepping past them and coolly saying to Jeremy, "I'll catch a cab myself. But you should hurry. They called you twice tonight, so it must be important."

She deliberately slowed her pace as she passed Melody and Tiffany. She briefly glanced in their direction, then quickly withdrew her gaze and stepped into the elevator.

Melody lightly clenched her fists and ignored Krystal's words. She then turned to Jeremy. "Did the Wardolfs ask you to go over to their place? They actually..."

Melody was about to say that Andrew had called her back earlier too. But before she could finish, Jeremy cut her off, saying, "So, are you really planning to install cameras in my car? Do you need to know everything I do?"

His tone was unreadable, but Melody clearly felt the chill.

Jeremy's brow furrowed slightly as he lifted the medical files in his hand toward her. "Krystal and I were discussing patient cases. Do you want to take a look?
