Felicia scoffed. "Who knows? Have you forgotten how many times he's threatened us before? Even if it's not him, we still have to consider Celestial Group.
"Sebastian isn't exactly a good person either. For now, just stay alert. People might really show up with malicious intent.
"Make sure you're always accompanied when you go home. Or have Jason pick you up every day. He's strong enough to handle any situation."
Felicia gave Melody some serious advice, but not a single one involved Jeremy. After all, she had always mistrusted Jeremy and disliked him.
Meanwhile, Melody simply knew that he had been incredibly busy lately. He was so busy that she rarely saw him, if at all.
Melody quietly agreed, "Okay, I understand."
In truth, she hadn't even returned home in days too and opted instead to stay at the hospital overnight. Ever since the incident with Tessa, she'd become extremely cautious about her personal safety.
Alexis had specifically warned her not to go out unless absolutely necessary and to stay offline too, especially at this moment since public opinion was overwhelmingly against her. Trying to explain things would only make things worse.
Unfortunately, Melody soon received more bad news.
Due to the sudden backlash, Verve also faced severe criticism and public pressure to cancel their collaboration with Melody. Although they hadn't contacted Melody yet, Alexis advised her to mentally prepare herself.
Not to mention, several smaller photoshoots had already canceled their agreements too.
After ending her call with Felicia, Melody returned to the nurses' station.
Just as she approached it, she overheard Penelope's sarcastic voice, "See? She's just an adopted daughter, after all.
"She's been dragged online for days. Has anyone from the Wardolfs helped her? If she were their real daughter, they'd have paid to remove those posts ages ago."
Another voice quietly agreed, "True. She was all high and mighty before, posing for magazine covers, enjoying everyone's praise. Now look at her."
"I just hope the whole department doesn't get dragged down again. Why do I have to deal with such a troublesome coworker? I just want to do my job peacefully."
