A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 249

Melody and Andrew talked in the study for about ten minutes before coming out. When they did, Jeremy was still there. He and Krystal were sitting with Laura, chatting.

When Melody came out, Jeremy stood up and said, "It's getting late, so I'll take my leave first."

Laura smiled and said, "Come again when you have time. I know you all are busy with your jobs, so make sure to rest when you can."

Jeremy nodded and prepared to leave. Then, his gaze briefly swept over Melody.

Melody noticed this and froze for a moment. Then, she followed him out.

Jeremy stood by the car and watched her expressionlessly.

Melody suddenly felt uneasy and wondered if she had misinterpreted his intentions. He didn't seem to need anything from her.

She looked down, took out her phone, and prepared to call a cab. After all, it was already evening, and the buses had stopped running.

Then, Jeremy's voice, neutral but slightly unclear in emotion, came from behind her, "Aren't you going to pick up your documents? Are you going to wait for me to bring them to you instead?"

Melody paused and turned around in surprise.

But when she did, Jeremy had already opened the car door and gotten in.

...

It wasn't until Jeremy's car had driven away that Laura sighed and looked at Andrew. "You know, Jeremy is such a good man. How did he end up with Melody? She's not even close to being worthy of him."

Andrew replied, "It's because of Ophelia."

Laura sighed again.

Krystal then indifferently said, "What are you guys worried about? They've already broken up."

"What?" Laura was shocked. "Are you saying they've really broken up? Is that true?"

Krystal calmly said, "They were never a good match. Jeremy knows it himself, being with someone who can't keep up with his thinking is exhausting."

She paused for a moment and added, "Everyone in the department knows about it. You can go ask around if you don't believe me."

Laura and Andrew exchanged a glance, both smiling in delight. "There's nothing unbelievable about it. I've known all along that it was bound to happen. Someone as outstanding as Jeremy deserves better than Melody."

Andrew's sharp eyes flashed with a glint of understanding. He glanced at Krystal and then at Laura.

Laura immediately understood his intention. She gently said to Krystal, "Krys, I've noticed that you and Jeremy get along well. Now that he and Melody have broken up, maybe you two can start developing something.
