Melody looked at Jeremy and said in a hoarse voice, "Jeremy, we've broken up. You can't do this."

Jeremy watched as her tears fell, her eyes red and swollen.

A hint of confusion appeared in his dark pupils. Within that confusion, there was also a barely noticeable sense of satisfaction.

After that, Melody hurriedly left his apartment. Her mind was in turmoil as she clutched the box in her arms and left the neighborhood, ready to grab a cab.

This area was in the city center, so it was easy to get a cab. However, it was rush hour, and traffic was heavy. The driver called her, saying he was stuck in traffic and that he would need another ten minutes to reach her.

Melody wasn't in a rush to go back and decided that it was a good time to be alone and clear her head.

Upon thinking back to what had just happened, her thoughts were a chaotic mess.

She wasn't stupid. Now that she had a moment to calm down, she slowly began to understand why Jeremy had acted the way he did earlier.

But before she could think it through any further, she suddenly felt as though there was a flash of light, like someone was taking her picture.

After working as a model for so long with Alexis, she was still sensitive to the sound of a camera.

She frowned slightly and looked around.

There were a few pedestrians, but she couldn't see anyone taking photos. However, the eerie feeling that someone was spying on her didn't go away.

She bit her lip, took out her phone, and was about to send a message to Jeremy. She wanted to ask him to come downstairs, but she hesitated and didn't send it.

After a moment of doubt, she called Felicia instead.

Felicia quickly picked up. "What's up, babe? I'll be back in a little while. Are you missing me?"

Melody mumbled, "Yeah, I'm looking forward to having dinner with you once you're back." She then turned her head and spoke in a low voice, "I think someone's following me and secretly taking pictures, but I'm not sure."

Felicia's tone became serious. "Where are you right now?"

"I just left Jeremy's place. I came to get Echo's documents."

"Do you want to come back?" Felicia asked. "You're very popular right now, and there are definitely paparazzi trying to get exclusive shots of you. They'll sell the photos to marketing accounts and rake in some traffic.
