A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 265

Melody was still haunted by Denvin's words as she walked back home. Jeremy knew that Dennis was the mastermind, but he failed to tell her about it, making her suspicious.

Why? Was it because Jeremy was worried that she might stir up trouble for Krystal, or was it because her suffering didn't mean anything to him?

That explained everything.

All of a sudden, realization struck Melody like a piercing alarm shattering her dream. This was why he said he wanted to bring her along to find out who the mastermind was, but kept his mouth shut about the matter afterward.

She had just arrived at the apartment entrance when she ran into Jeremy, but she didn't want to see him now, as she was still upset.

Melody stopped in front of the door, turned, and said after some hesitation, "I forgot I have to buy something. See you in a bit."

"I'll come with you." Jeremy followed her.

She reacted out of instinct and cried out, "Not necessary!"

Then, she fought to lower her voice and explained, "It's nothing important. I can buy it myself."

He didn't respond to her. Lowering his gaze, he looked at her, only to find that she had pursed lips and had a pale face. It was as if she was nervous or ran into some unpleasant matter.

Jeremy gulped and said warmly, "What happened? You can tell me about it."

Melody instantly stiffened. She stood upright, puffed out her chest, and said, "Nothing happened. Even if something did, I don't have to tell you."

Then, she turned around and left, but Jeremy hastily grabbed her arm. She turned back, and a hint of misery flashed in her eyes.

His eyes immediately darkened, and his grip on her hand tightened. Without another word, he led her back to their home upstairs.

The moment the door was closed, Jeremy's tone became icier. "Tell me, what did Denvin say to you?"

He was aware that Melody had hung out with Denvin earlier today. She was in a good mood earlier this morning, but she went back to being off again. A heaviness began to settle in his heart.

Given Melody's current condition, it was best if she didn't have to deal with strong emotions. That was why Jeremy hadn't told her about Dennis all this time.

He was worried that she would succumb to her foul moods and do something reckless later.
