A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 27

Felicia was stunned and asked, "Are you wearing your hearing aid?"

Then, she remembered Melody couldn't hear, so she quickly typed on her phone and asked again.

Melody's eyes had already turned red. She turned around to show Felicia her ear.

The hearing aid was in place, but she still couldn't hear.

Everything was chaotic, and everyone was busy with Tessa, so Felicia took Melody to the hospital by herself.

After examining Melody, Simon typed on his phone. "Have you been hit on the ear or had something press down on it recently?"

Melody typed slowly. "A few days ago, someone hit my ear with a microphone. Just now, it was hit by flying shards."

"Did it hurt?"

"It hurt a lot."

That day in the doctor's office, Melody's ear was struck by a reporter pushing through the crowd. It hurt at the time, but Jeremy pulled her away, and she didn't have a chance to check.

Later, it stopped hurting, so she ignored it.

"Your ear suffered damage, so you have to be very careful. You should never let it get bumped. It looks like you hurt it last time, and now it got another shock. That caused temporary deafness. Try to rest for two days. If you still haven't recovered, come back right away."

Melody thanked Simon.

Felicia was so scared she broke out in a cold sweat. She helped Melody out of the office.

Melody had removed her hearing aid completely. Simon said she shouldn't wear it for the next two days.

On the way downstairs, Melody remembered she still had some snacks and clothes in the department. She couldn't work for now, so she wanted to take them home.

Felicia walked with her. Melody couldn't hear, so Felicia acted as her protector.

Tessa was finally stable and resting.

When Jeremy saw Melody, he paused. His white coat wasn't even buttoned up, which showed how rushed it had been.

He gave Melody a questioning look. "Who told you to come here? If Tessa sees you, you'll only set her off."

Melody only caught the words "Tessa". She lowered her eyes.

She couldn't hear him at all. If she didn't look at Jeremy, she could avoid whatever hurtful things he said.

Krystal gave Melody a cold glance and said, "The department has already suspended your work. Don't come back and make trouble."

She glanced at the wounds on Melody's arm. "Get those treated. There are too many patients here, so it's easy to get an infection."

Yet, her tone sounded unpleasant.
