A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 30

Melody thought for a moment and typed on her phone. "Sorry, I'm walking a bit slow."

She held the phone out toward Jeremy, reaching for his forearm so he could see it.

However, as soon as she touched Jeremy's arm, he flung her hand away.

Her arm was injured, and his movement worsened it. Melody's hand slipped, and her phone dropped to the ground.

Melody's pupils trembled. She stared at him in a panic, her hand frozen in midair. She couldn't hear anything, nor could she speak.

Jeremy's expression grew colder by the second. Melody finally realized she should not have grabbed him.

A rush of anxiety and fear spread through her chest. She shook her head at him, eyes full of apology and pleading.

Her lips tightened, her eyes dark and clear, showing guilt and a silent plea for understanding.

She hoped he wouldn't be upset because she couldn't explain herself right now.

Melody suddenly remembered something. She quickly picked up her phone to type.

However, when she looked up again, Jeremy had already walked away.

She instinctively tried to follow, but someone suddenly pulled her back.

A group of people was rushing a hospital bed down the hallway, passing right in front of her. She was nearly knocked over.

It was a junior nurse who had pulled her aside, looking annoyed. "I told you to move several times. Didn't you hear me?"

She let go of Melody and ran after the bed.

Melody, still shaken, found a chair nearby and sat down. She didn't dare join the crowd again, afraid she would cause more problems.

Caleb spotted her and looked surprised.
