A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 87

Jeremy had brilliant eyes. Although he had dark pupils, his eyes were in the shape of slits—long and narrow. His eyelids were thin, too. On top of that, there was a red nevus underneath his right eye that looked absolutely striking.

Anyone who met his gaze would always feel their heart fluttering, being sucked into the deep abyss of his eyes.

Turning away, Melody lowered her gaze to look at her own fingers instead.

Meanwhile, Andrew adopted a gentle and warm expression. "Jeremy, Krys, you guys are back. Did you already have dinner?"

Krystal responded, "We did."

"Didn't you say that you might not come home because you have to deal with a patient in critical condition?"

Then, Jeremy calmly explained, "Dr. Turner took over the patient and asked us to go home first."

"Stay around and catch a break, then. You drove Krys home, so you can use some rest."

Krystal also chimed in, "Please stay. I have something to discuss with you."

Jeremy responded, "Okay."

Melody stood next to them. She had to admit that he looked more like a part of the Wardolf family than she did now. At the same time, she stuck out like a sore thumb.

Jeremy and Krystal went into the study, but Melody had to wait in the living room instead. She already had a chat group with Felicia and Jason, and a new message suddenly popped up.

Felicia asked, "Mel, are you attending the event organized by Green Moon Orphanage?"

"What is it about?" came Melody's question.

She protested, "If you know it's a secret, then maybe you shouldn't ask about it."

Melody didn't say anything. She turned sideways, not willing to look at how well they were getting along. This was the first time she realized that she was rather petty. After all, she could barely tolerate it when Jeremy and Krystal stood next to each other.

Approaching Melody, he stood in front of her. He lowered his gaze and said nonchalantly, "Melody."

When she looked at him, he spoke in a calm tone, "We're heading home."

"Okay," she responded and got up to leave. When she arrived at the car, she habitually opened the door to the backseat.

However, Jeremy stared at her, suggesting, "Take a seat in front."
