Chapter 56: The Counterattack
In the Shawn Heavy Industries office, Michael watched as the hacker he hired, Devin, took down Jioleek. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction.
“Keep fortifying the firewall. Leave them no room to retaliate. We need to keep control.” he said.
Devin listened, not entirely on board with what he was hearing.
“No need. It’s already sorted,” Devin said.
As long as they can’t install the firewall, no need to reinforce
further.
But Michael wouldn’t listen. “You’re not putting up that firewall.”
Fuming, Chloe dove into tracking the IP address. She was determined to unmask whoever had been messing with her.
“Doesn’t that guy know the hacker world has no tolerance for dirty tricks against fellow hackers?” she thought.
Chloe’s fingers flew over the keyboard, and soon she had a location locked in.
Candy stared at the blinking red dot, her face a mask of shock.

“Oh my god, did that evildoer strike again?” Candy exclaimed.
Chloe listened to Candy, feeling her mind go fuzzy.
She couldn’t believe it was Michael all along, pulling pranks on her from behind the scenes.
“Isn’t this guy a bit too petty? Just because we didn’t take his job back then, he’s gotta target us like this?” Candy fumed. “Isn’t this the address of the company he started with that Lucy chick?”
Michael is such a creep!
Chloe shut her laptop and headed out the door.
Candy froze behind her and asked, “Where are you going?”
“She can’t be going to find Michael, can she?” Candy thought.
“I’m heading to Shawn Heavy Industries!” Chloe declared, slamming the door behind her.
Candy’s body trembled uncontrollably.
“Uh–oh, someone’s in for it!” she thought.
Chloe hopped into the car, shot a quick text to the client, assuring them the job would get done but asking for a bit more
time.
Her employer agreed without hesitation, knowing that with

The car pulled up at the entrance of Shawn Heavy Industries. Before stepping out, Chloe put on a mask and hat, and topped it off with oversized sunglasses that covered most of her face.
The driver glanced at her in the rearview mirror and said, “Miss, are you here to catch your husband’s mistress?”
“What?” she thought.
Chloe smirked. “I’m here to wreck his business!”
She walked into the company building and headed straight upstairs. The receptionist mistook her for a client and didn’t ask any questions.
Chloe had barely settled in the lounge when she spotted Lucy outside.
