Chapter 73
Day by day, Simone and Samuel grew closer. With Samuel’s love nurturing her, her once distant eyes now sparkling with something new.
Time flew by, and they moved from their small rental apartment to a grand villa. By then, Samuel was already making a name for himself as a budding entrepreneur.
Wanting Simone to have company, Samuel took her to an orphanage and let her choose two boys to be her brothers. Without hesitation, she picked Charles and Raymond.
With her two brothers at her side, Simone became a different person. She was lively and outgoing, and to everyone’s surprise, the sensible girl even started to show a playful and spoiled side.
It was a hopeful start, but everything changed one winter day a year later. Samwel came home with a woman and a little girl. Standing on the second floor. Simone saw them and felt uneasy for the first time
“This is your little sister, Samuel said with a smile, pointing at the girl in the woman’s arms.
Simone didn’t even look at the girl. Instead, she glared at Samuel and shouted defiantly, “Daddy, I don’t want a sister! Make them leave.” She threw the teddy bear she was holding at him
What teddy bear was a gift from Samuel and one she had always cherished. But this time, he didn’t rush to comfort her like he usually did.
“Simone, stop it,” he said, looking up at her with a warning in his eyes.
Cyrus watched the scene unfold. His heart ached this was the first time he had seen Simone so upset
He shot Samuel a sharp glare. “Are you deal? Get rid of them already!”
Simone gave Samuel one last furious look and then stormed off to her room, slamming the door behind her. Cyrus followed her inside, his heart heavy
Curled up under her blanket, Simone cried softly. “Bad Daddy! I’m never talking to you again!”
Cyrus wished he could hit Samuel to let out his frustration. Later, Samuel went up to Simone’s room. “Hey, sweetheart, are you still mad at Daddy!” he asked gently.
Simone turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
Seeing her tear–streaked face, Samuel paused before pulling her into his arms. “Why are you crying now?”
Simone still ignored him, but her tears kept flowing.
Samuel gently wiped her tears away, his voice softening. Daddy was wrong, okay? I promise I won’t scold you again next time, alright?”
“How about this–you can hit Daddy,” he suggested, grabbing her hand and guiding it to slap his own face.

From then on, Samuel often said to Simone: “Can’t you just listen for once?”
Can’t you be a little more sensible?”
“Simone, how could you bully your sister?”
“Norah has been so good to you. Why would you say bad things about her, Simonet

Exer since Stella and Norah moved in, Simone was pushed aside. Even her two brothers, who had always loved her, started favoring Stella. Simone became the outsider in the family
Cyrus was mad, but he couldn’t do anything. All bec could do was watch helplessly as Samwel continually blamed Simone.
Stella tripped on her own, but when Simone tried to help her, Samuel came over and scolded Simone without asking what happened.

In a comer, Norah grabbed Simone by the neck and hissed, “You little pest. Later, Simone pointed to the marks on her neck and tried to tell Samuel but he accused her of lying and scolded her instead.

The once lively and cheerful Simone gradually lost the twinkle in her eyes, her gaze growing dull and lifeless, as if all the warmth had been drained from her soul.
When Simone turned eight. Norah found her a piano teacher. At first, Simone was excited about her lessons, her smile returning, bringing a flicker of hope to her otherwise gloomy life. And Cyrus didn’t notice anything wrong.
But one day, after class, the piano teacher lingered with an unsenting smile and said, “Simone, can I lift up your skirt“”
Samone froze, her body shaking as she instinctively stepped back. “I don’t want to play plano anymore.”

The next day. Simone approached Samuel cautiously, her voice quaking as she asked, “Dad, can I stop learning piano!”
Samuel didn’t even look at her, his voice cold and dismissive: “No.”
“But.” Simone tried to explain, her words faltering under the weight of her fear. Samuel cut her off with a sharp rebuke. “Why can’t you be like your
