Chapter 74
“Dad” Simone said with a shaky voice, looking at Samuel. The strange smile that was on her face faded. She held his gaze and quickly said. “Dad, be touched me.”
She took a few steps toward Samuel, reaching out her hand to hold his, but Samuel pushed her away.
“Why are you so scary!” Samuel pushed Simone aside, his voice harsh and his face going from disbelief to disgust.
He said, “Norah worked hard to find you a great piano teacher, and now you’re slandering him! You’re totally out of line?”
It was a Sunday, and the noise quickly brought the whole family to the spot.
As soon as Stella saw Simone, she screamed loudly, her voice shaking with fear. There’s blood on your hands. It’s scary!” She covered her eyes quickly.
Norah’s eyes widened in shock as she held Stella tight. “How could you be so mean, Simone? Stay away fr
from my daughter!”
“Dad” Simone called out to Samuel, her voice shaking as she tried to move closer to explain.
“Don’t come any closer!” Samuel’s cold voice cut through the air, stopping Simone right there. He moved in front of Stella and Norah, protecting Them
Before long, Charles and Raymond showed up.
When they saw what was happening their faces turned dark. They looked at Stella, and when they saw she was okay, they sighed heavily.
But as their eyes went back to Simone, they showed disgust.
“Simone, playing with knives at your age! What’s next, killing people when you’re older?” Charles said with a sneer.
Raymond said angrily, “Simone, if you want to mess with knives, fine, but if you hurt Stella, you’ll regret it!”
Everyone could see Simone as a big problem.
“Why wont anyone believe me?” Simone whispered, her voice soft as her eyes lost their spark
After this whole thing. Cyrus sadly watched as Simone became more strange, extreme, and even a bit crazy.
By the time she turned ten, her only friend was Joanne.
One day, Stella started a fire that trapped herself, Simone, and Joanne inside. When Samuel came, the fire was out of control, and he had to choose to save just one person. Without thinking, he took Stella out,
Simone watched him leave, the light in her eyes fading until it was c
was completely gone, leaving nothing but despair.
“Samuel, you should die!” Cyrus shouted, tears streaming down as anger burned in his eyes. At that moment, he really wanted to kill Samuel
Then, he saw Simone protecting Joanne from the blast. It injured her ears, but even in pain, she pushed Joanne out the window before pulling herself out.
Suddenly, Cyrus remembered how he had asked Simone about her ears many times. Every time, she managed to change the subject.
He hadn’t understood wh
why she didn’t want to talk about it, but now it all made sense he had been reopening her old wounds without knowing.
After barely escaping with her life, Simone was falsely accused by the family of starting the fire. Even Joanne, her best friend, went against her, saying Simone was the one who caused it,
On her eleventh birthday. Simone lost her only friend. After she accidentally pushed Stella, Samuel and Norah decided to send her away. The truth was, Stella had been the one to provoke Simone first by cutting up the big teddy bear Samuel had given her.
Simone, unable to control her anger, pushed Stella. But Stella twisted the story, saying Simone destroyed the bear to make her look bad. Samuel believed Stella without question.
“Dad, it wasn’t me. Please believe me!” Simone’s voice shook as she looked at the ruined teddy bear, its stuffing spilled out. For the first time, fear gripped her tight.
Samuel might not have noticed, but Cyrus saw it clearly–Simone wasn’t just trying to prove her innocence. She was begging, pleading for Samuel not to send her away.

This time, Samuel didn’t scold her. He gently patted her head, his voice soft but distant. “Simone, you’ll be fine overseas. You will be taken care of Til bring you back later, okay?”

But his heart was as cold as ice. “Be good, okay? I promise I’ll celebrate your birthday with you next time.
Cyrus could see the light in Simone’s eyes go out completely. She looked at Samuel, her voice harely a whisper. “Will I ever come back?
Samuel nodded with a faint smile, but his words felt empty. “Of course. This will always be your home.”
Cyrus could only watch helplessly as Simone was sent away.
As soon as she arrived, someone was waiting for her. The bodyguards didn’t ask any questions and shoved Simone straight into a black car.
The car drove all the way to the docks before stopping. They were supposed to switch to a boat from there. Simone frowned, feeling something was wrong. Wait, aren’t we going to a villat Why are we taking a boat?”
A man laughed mockingly. “Your family sold you to us. You’re not going near a villa” Surrounded by their own people, the man didn’t hide the truth anymore.
“That can’t be true!” Simone felt her heart drop as panic hit her. She instinctively tried to run. But before she could move, the men grabbed her and
