George finally decided not to hypnotize Cyrus again. Realizing he couldn’t change his mind, Cyrus pushed down his discomfort and stood up the chair.

“What did you dream about just now?” George asked seriously, looking closely at Cyrus.

Cyrus didn’t answer, but George seemed to know anyway. He casually asked, “By the way, what’s your connection to Simone?” George had wanted to ask last time, but there was too much going on that day, so he didn’t get a chance.

Cyrus’s eyes narrowed. His gaze turned cold as he asked, “And what’s your connection with her!”

I can only tell you that we’ve been close for years, George said, a sly smile creeping on

George knew Simone didn’t like her r privacy being exposed.

“Tell me more” Cynis frowned, his displeasure showing as he looked at George

Cyrus stayed silent. George turned the question back on him. “What’s your connection with her?”

“I’m her biological father,”

George’s expression changed drastically. That’s impossible! Simone is Samuel’s daughter.”

Cyrus’s face grew dark when he heard Samuel’s name. Memories from his dream flooded back, each one sharper than the last.

His eyes shone with a cold, dangerous light, and he spoke in a low growl, “Simone has nothing to do with Samuel.”

“I know the Spences are fools,” George said, his voice dripping with disdain. He knew how the Spences treated Simone and didn’t have a good opinion of them.

“Wait, you’re really Simone’s biological father!” George moved closer, studying Cyrus’s features. The similarities were clear–it would be hard to argue against it.

Absolutely. Want to see a DNA test?” Cyrus sneered, irritation barely hidden as he gave George a pointed look.

George waved his hand. “Nah, I’m good”

George’s playful anitude vanished, replaced by a serious expression. His tone carried weight, and each word felt like a warning “You’re Simone’s real father, right? Then act like it. If you ever hurt her, I swear Til make you pay.”

Cyrus’s reply was cold. Tm her father. No one cares for her more than I do. You think you can lecture me?”

He understood George was defending Simone, but the way he acted–like he was closer to her than Cyrus–was unbearable for Cyrus. She was his daugler. No one had the right to question that.

Cyrus stood up, ready to leave. But just as he reached the door, George’s soft voice stopped him. “Do you even know Simone is sick!”

Cyrus froze, his breath held tight. His heart raced, and he wondered, ‘Simone is sick Since when?‘

He turned quickly, urgency in his gaze. “What happened to her? Tell met”

“She has severe depression,” George said. “She even tried to end her own life. If I hadn’t been there to stop her.” He paused, hands elenched tightly. “For the past few years, she’s been seeing me for hypnotherapy.”

George added, “I thought I was helping her, but a year ago, I realized she was just pretending. She’s much worse now. Simone is smart. Even though my hypnosis didn’t work on her, she pretended to be in a trance and tricked everyone.”

Cyrus’s eyes widened, pain hutting his chest hard. When he spoke again, his voice was heavy. “Why is she depressed?”

George shook his head. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s something that happened overseas, or maybe she has just lost all hope. That girl holds everything in and protects herself. I couldn’t get her to open up”

After thinking briefly, George looked at Cyrus again and added, “But you’re her father. Maybe you have a chance.”

Cyrus’s hands shook with worry. He knew better than anyone–Simone didn’t trust him. Not even a bit.

George reminded him sharply, his tone cold at the end. “In any case, you better treat her like she’s the most important person ever. Don’t you dare follow in the Spence family’s footsteps.”

George could see that Cyrus truly cared about Simone. He said patiently. “If you can, try to show her your love. She’s been on her own for so long she probably doesn’t even know what it’s like to have a family.

To George, Simone was more than a patient–she was like a little sister to him. He treated her like family.
