Chapter 22 Confrontation
Sharon didn't expect to meet Leah so soon. She was stunned for a moment before finally coming to her senses and sweeping her gaze over Leah.
She found that Leah was wearing a plain light blue dress, and aside from the simple necklace around her neck, she wore no extra jewelry. Even so, it didn't tone down the beauty of her face, which made Sharon feel ashamed of her own appearance.
"But what of it? No matter how good-looking you are, aren't you still living in such misery that you dress yourself in such a simple yet elegant outfit?" Sharon thought, and a look of contempt gradually appeared on her face.
She said, "Miss Wilson, are you deliberately hiding in this deserted place because you're worried about being outdone by the wealthy ladies in the hall?"
Leah put up a thin smile. "Aren't you here as well, Miss Foster? Does that mean you're worried too, so you especially came here to hide?"
"Do you think that's likely? I'm the main character today!" Sharon tilted up her chin proudly. "Even Quentin sees me as the most important person, so who can compare with me? Miss Wilson, could it be you deliberately said it because you're jealous of me? Or are you jealous that I can get Quentin's attention?"
"Pfft," Leah snorted, "You are thinking too much. I thought you also had the same thought as me since you understood what I wanted to do so well."
"Leah, enough of your acting. You do actually mind, don't you?" Sharon said, slowly approaching Leah. "You mind that I'm together with Quentin and that I can be doted by Quentin. You bared your soul to him, yet you're being the abandoned one."
Truthfully, Leah didn't care about all the things she said, but her intimidating attitude made her feel uncomfortable.
She said, "Speaking of which, Miss Foster, you were pregnant before Quentin and I got divorced, weren't you? Do you think it's such an honor to be a mistress? If you're really proud of it, I wouldn't mind helping you publicize it, so your fans will also know about it."
"Are you threatening me?" Sharon's expression started to look terrible, but then, as if she thought of something, she let out a sarcastic laugh. "Leah, in the end, don't you just mind with how well Quentin treats me?"
Then she gently fiddled with the necklace around her neck, clearly showing off.
