Elizabeth continued, “It’s important to have self–awareness, you know? A bioinformatics student trying to critique the physics group’s experimental data. It’s laughable.” 

Just then, Bryan, who had been sitting at his computer, suddenly perked up with excitement. “I just recalculated everything–Miranda was right!” 

Elizabeth froze as if she were a duck caught mid–quack. Her words were cut off abruptly. 

Sandy and Silas looked stunned. 

Bryan explained, “The values aren’t 50 and 71; they should be 50.2 and 70.88! This small discrepancy caused all subsequent values at the seventh node to be off.” 

In research, even a tiny margin of error could lead to significant deviations.” 

Silas immediately leaned in closer to the screen, meticulously reviewing everything without missing a detail. He recalculated using the corrected values of 50.2 and 70.88. Sure enough, all the subsequent data automatically corrected themselves! 

His eyes lit up. “This is it! The issue was indeed at the seventh node.” 

Sandy double–checked as well, confirming that the numbers were accurate. She then looked at Miranda with a new expression–one of surprise, amazement, and a hint of apology. 

She… hadn’t stepped up to support Miranda earlier… 

Bryan was now fully appreciative, addressing her, “Miranda, we owe you for this! This dataset had me stuck for three days. If you hadn’t caught the error, who knows how much more time our whole team would have wasted on this.” 

Miranda remained calm. Even when Elizabeth had directed her remarks at her earlier, her expression 

hadn’t wavered. 

“It was just pure luck. I just happened to notice it. Even if I hadn’t, with Dr. Quinton’s quick calculation skills, he would have spotted the error soon enough.” 

Her words were modest but also truthful. She knew that despite their seemingly carefree attitudes, Sandy and Bryan were actually quite meticulous. Elizabeth, too, was not one to be underestimated. 

Even without her input, they would have eventually identified the problem. 

Sandy’s gaze at Miranda shifted once again, filled with a complex mix of admiration and gullt. She had to admit that although Miranda had been there for nearly two weeks, everyone, while outwardly polite, still held reservations internally. 

Miranda was a recent graduate who, despite passing her postgraduate entrance exams, hadn’t yet started her studies. 

This meant her knowledge was still at an undergraduate level. In their top–tier lab group, as they worked on cutting–edge projects with the best resources to benefit society and even humanity, it was natural for even the most humble among them to carry a sense of superiority.
